Support Cindy with a Tent in YOUR YARD!!!
I'm on a political discussion email list and I just learned that some friends on the list from Iowa are putting tents up in their yards to show support for Cindy! We should all do this! This is a simple thing that could easily go nationwide!!!

If you don't have a tent, a makeshift blanket and broomstick tent will do!

Let's make this happen! I've been told that as soon as the organizer gets confirmation of tents going up, he will get the media involved. He is good on his word; I've seen his group go into action before.

PUT UP YOUR TENTS!!!

Peace...

2. oh yeah they will!
If tents start going up all over and people start asking why, you betcha the word will get out.

My friends in Iowa who are starting this are getting the word out to the media and once tents start going up all over, the news will spread!

Have faith! This is something we can all do to show support without laying out cash to join Cindy in person.

3. The kids in the neighborhood would know what it is there for..
At least in my neighborhood...So I am thinking about puting up a poster with a drawing of a tent....with words "I support Cindy.....
Please Mr. Presdent Bring Our Troos Home NOW " or something similar...

6. Then put up a sign that makes it clear why it is there
such as "My Heart and Mind is at Camp Casey with Cindy", or something like that. And even the sign posts like the ones used on Mash would do. You know that sign post that pointed how many miles to different towns? It could point to Washington, Crawford, and Baghdad.

I really like this idea. You could make or purchase a small styrofoam cross (like florists use for displays) and place it next to the tent for further clarity, or even a group of them to represent those lost from your state. Quite powerful indeed.

Now you are thinking! This could be HUGE! And it's simple to do and doesn't cost multiple body parts like a flight to Crawford would!

Show a little faith and a little support! Would it embarrass you to put a friggin tent in your yard or something? Don't be a pansy whiner! At least it's doing something instead of making fun of someone who IS trying to do something!

Arbitrary my ass.

If you don't want to support Cindy like this, no one is forcing you. Take your bad attitude elsewhere, please. People here seem to like the idea and are offering suggestions to make the idea better. Please don't piss in our Wheaties! If you can't support this, don't. But don't be mean just because you can't wrap your mind around this!

14. This started with a friend in Cedar Falls, IA
who is very politically active. I've asked if I can share some of the email addresses for organizational purposes. There is no link as of yet.

Have faith, please. Keep your eyes on the news too. If it takes a few brave souls who aren't afraid of being embarrassed to start this, many will follow. Crosses and tents and signs don't cost much folks!

Thanks to GW, I have no job right now. All I have is a heart and an idea... and a fucking tent! If I appear tacky to a bunch of shallow creeps, so be it! It's all I have. If I had the money (I certainly have the friggin time!), I'd be there... all dirty and grimy and tacky sitting in that damn ditch.

I have sons draft age, do you? Do you want to see more dead kids and grieving mothers? We should ALL be embarrassed at what has happened.

30. Oh please, I didn't ask for a flame war.
I would sleep on the ground with Cindy in Crawford and donate to her cause and do a great many things in support of her. I just don't think that throwing up a tent in my front yard is doing anything to help her. It just makes people driving down the street think that you are A. Having a camp out in your front yard or B. Having a yard sale. There are better ways of showing your support, IMHO.

Misses and Miracles

We still have so many great things happening at Camp Casey. In spite of all the smears and lies, people are still coming.

The most amazing thing today was learning that Camp Caseys are opening and spreading all over the country. They have been set up in Boston, Portland, Seattle, and elsewhere. If you can't make it to Camp Casey, set up your own version. Camp Caseys are amazing places full of love and hope. I am so gratified that the movement is spreading.

42. I think it would be better if we all sent crosses to the
White House.

Send a cross, small enough to put in an envelope. It must have a fallen soldier's name on it. The mailing could include a message about the crosses that were desecrated at Camp Casey.

Put up a sign across it that says:

And inside you have a stack of flyers or any other documents about what's going on in Crawford...
