Radio KING Guy James on Crawford: "The sight of those 1800 crosses"
Guy was on the Thom Hartmann show this morning, discussing his live broadcast from Crawford this past Saturday.

Folks, I don't know if you regularly listen to Guy on Saturdays (6-9 PM Eastern), but if you don't, stop by The White Rose Society (http://www.whiterosesociety.org/) and listen to a few of the archived shows that Ben Burch has been good enough to post there for you.

THIS coming Saturday's show promises to be quite an event, if the few minutes with Thom were any indication. Guy told a great story about grabbing lunch in one of the Crawford eateries and making the mistake of ordering a chef's salad in a sea of rednecks eating "everything fried."

But the one moment that made my blood run cold was when Thom asked him a few "what was it like in Crawford" questions and guy said "Bring some water, bring some bug spray, and prepare yourself for the sight of this 1800 crosses lining the road. And what did they die for? NOTHING."

TUNE IN this Saturday. Guy tells these stories a LOT better than I do.

1. Not a Jew, a Muslim or an atheist among the dead?
Just asking.

4. I've seen a picture of at least one crescent marker
I think they're using the word 'cross' as a generic term for 'marker'.

8. Yes
There were Crescents and Stars of David there as well. I didn't personally see Atheist markers, but they may well have been there. You're absolutely right. "Crosses" is like saying "Kleenex".

3. No damn reason Guy James shouldn't be on AA....
Edited on Mon Aug-15-05 03:00 PM by OneTwentyoNine
Instead of be relegated to a Saturday only show. Some of the crap I've heard on AA between shows of Franken/Rhodes/Malloy could EASILY be filled by Guy James.

If it was Repuke talk radio and personality like Guy would have been hired in a NY minute. Get off your ASS AA and hire the man for a daily show.

5. I'd personally rather hear him on AAR
than Franken or Springer. But he at least deserves a weekend slot. It would beat all the "Best of's". Plus I can't keep sending him $ much longer.

7. Yup,I've sent him some $$ from time to time.....
Hell, when he had the Sat afternoon slot I missed him more than I heard him just because it was Saturday afternoon. The evening slot is better but he should sure as hell be on AA during the day and drop some of the crap shows they serve up.

6. I would like to see Guy on KGO...
...home of Bernie Ward and Ray Taliaferro.

I realize that there is a bit of geography between Ft. Myers FL and San Francisco CA, but KGO would be a GREAT home for a 5-day-a-week Guy James show.

Regardless, SOMEONE with the power to give this man a daily nationwide shot needs to DO IT.
