Chavez warns bush about $10/gallon gasoline
At a Mock 'Anti-Imperialist' Trial of the United States, Chavez Holds Up a Book by Noam Chomsky as Evidence

source: http://www.watchingamerica.com/lahora000008.html

The Venezuelan Head of State asserted that "either we dismantle American imperialism or the imperialism will put an end to this planet."

Chavez asserted that there has never been an empire more brutal, more cruel, more cynical, more savage, more hypocritical, and more dangerous than the one led by his counterpart, George Bush. He said that "Mr. Danger," like all other U.S. presidents, is not a person but an imperial system of hegemony that personifies within himself all other names and figures.

The President of the Republic, who appeared at the Festival of Youth to render testimony at a mock anti-imperialist trial against the United States, declared that he had come to denounce the imperial way. I have come to denounce 180 years of harassment. I have come to denounce 200 years of aggression," he said.

4. Ooooh Shit.....
them sound like fightin' words!

This is some serious stuff.

Bush ought to take it that way, coz Chavez doesn't appear to be smiling!

If Chavez has read Noam Chomsky, than Bush is in deep doo-doo....cause it means that Chavez understand exactly what's up.

6. Capitalism, By its Nature Anti-Civilization--and Now We All Know
Yes, this is actually the final stage of the corporate takeover and dismantling of the system of government and law, and rights of the people. They grin at you on their TV and Radio commercials, tell you they need "tax relief" and "freedom," and even make a stupid, "fun" slogan of "No Rules!"--but only for them, not you--and this is what behavior of theirs it was all covering up. Gouging the life out of you on prices, murdering citizen activists and then covering it up over their media, declaring wars only so they can profit by them, busting unions and then paying poverty-level wages, censoring all opposition, dumping toxic chemicals into open streams and lakes--it is all the same thing to them, part of a pattern. This is why it was such a disaster to ever have let these corporations win any victories politically, deregulating anything we once had safe control of. Eventually, it would get to this, and now we are all under any threat they want to put on us.

9. capitalism and democracy cannot co-exist
capitalism, by its charter, is selfish ... it seeks the accumulation of wealth and the destruction of all entities that prevent this accumulation ...

democracies, by their charters, are supposed to represent the best interests of the people ...

when the pursuit of wealth, absent any conscience, any moral values or even any nationalism is constrained by government for the common good, an inherent adversary relationship is established ...

if the democracy is pure, and none has ever been, there is no way for the wealth and power of commerce to purchase the government and set the policy ... if democracy is staffed by weak souls who are forced to compete for funds to retain their power, capitalism ultimately devours the voice of the people ...

instead of serving the common good, government, and their corporate masters, then serve only the corporate shareholders ... and with an exclusive focus on the accumulation of wealth and power ignoring all other societal values, formerly democratic governments become evil ...

such is where we are today ... we have lost our democracy to the corporate state ...
