I'm sorry I couldn't get any better pictures.

All my wide-shots were blurry.

I need a tripod!

3. Thanks! It was great meeting you, too. I wish wide-angle shots came out
1) Dark
2) No tripod
3) Moving subjects

I thought about bringing an "old fashioned" film camera, but then I wouldn't have been able to get the pictures online tonight.

2. Could someone consolidate all the vigil photo threads into..
one thread so that we could have easy access to all the photos.

:)
Thanks!

I have the utmost respect for Mrs. Sheenan!

Everything went very well.

We had over 140 people.

Lots of well-wishers and appreciative honks and waves.

No freeps.

Not so much as a dirty look from anyone.

There were two or three media people there covering the event.

It was a great location on a beautiful night with perfect weather.

Everything that could have gone right did.

Hats off to Helene Sancoucy, who organized this vigil!

5. Low Light situations are always a challenge..........

a.) Increase sensitivity of camera, higher iso rating. (more noise but who cares if you can stop the action)

b.) Turn on the flash, especially an accessory flash if you can.

c.) Get a tripod to steady the camera, or place it on a solid object: fence post, car's hood, etc.

Thanks for sending, I attended tonight in akron, oh. we had about 150 real nice folks show up. Most of the passersby were positive, hardly a middle finger salute all night. This is just the beginning, so you will have many opportunities to take these photos.

1) Set it to night-time mode
2) Used flash
3) Leaned against lightpoles, car, etc.

It was particularly hard to photograph without getting a parked car filling half the foreground. The entire foreground was lined with cars.

And shooting from across the street I also had to contend with four lanes of busy traffic (and nearly got killed getting back).

It really restricted the angles and places I could shoot from.

I have a tripod, but I need to find a way to replace the clip that holds the quick-release foot in shoe.
