"It's over, we lost"......
That's what Paul Hackett said regarding Iraq war on tonight's Bill Maher's show. Unable to sleep, I started thinkin......

Americans will support this lying, corrupt, hypocritical administration. They will accept torture in their name. They will ignore election fraud, erosion of their civil liberties, contamination of their environment, and the plundering of their treasury by war profiteers.

But what Americans will never do is tolerate a LOSER. No way can they forgive that. Bushco is going down and it won't be pretty.

realize that this war is lost. You'll hear their remaining brain cells pop.

22. They cannot change the fact that the Vietnamese won the war in Vietnam
and that no more American bombs are falling on their cities and villages.

Pride is a big sin, and Americans do suffer from it quite a bit.

23. they are already doing that
they make me furious. support our troops = as many of them dead as it takes to keep the oil flowing. And if the parent of a dead soldier dares to protest and try to stop the killing, they are quickly denounced as delusional, unpatriotic, a tool of the left, etc. Cindy Sheehan and those who support her are the true patriots. I am a patriot- and that means when my country is headed in the wrong direction I will not be silent. If these people are too fucking stupid to know why this war is a lost cause and they insist on blaming the war protesters they are going to get an earful from me. I will set them straight. I don't know if I can have a civil discussion with a "Support Our Troops" idiot anymore- I DO support our troops and that's why I want them home now.

35. thinking like Lakoff,
The "strict father" cannot also be a loser. The strict father can't lose--he always knows best! Even if he tries to blame it on others--that won't work either, because strict fathers are too smart to be fooled. (and they never need to change their minds, being always right.)

Yeah, I think a few blood vessels might just pop. Then they will proceed to give * and all connected with him the heave-ho.

12. Learned helplessness -- yep that's what is happening
I've been yapping about Learned helplessness -- for ages now.

I know what he's doing -- and in this case I'd have to give credit to his speech writers.

Of course I was also in the 10% who would NEVER trust bushie -- when his "approval" rating was at 90%. It has been so obvious to me what he is doing.

But then I analyzed his personality years ago -- using publicly available articles and the book "Fortunate Son".

He isn't really a leader personality -- he is a mentored personality -- that is he can only be a reflection of his mentor.

He sees the world in black and white -- no indecisive grays are permitted into his world view. This personality type is devoid of the empathy gene.

Actually he is a very primitive personality -- I don't see much change from his pre-teen personality to his adult personality.

Listening to Mike Malloy tonight we learn that in Idaho his handlers are building up his ego -- making him the bestest at fishing. Seems that a trout stream will be stocked with trophy trout and both upstream and downstream of where he'll be fishing will be blocked so that the fish can't escape.

His handlers know they have to feed his ego ALL THE TIME.

He is an externalizer -- to the point that not much is going on in his mind. Thus his bike riding and "manly" type outdoor "stuff".

He is not an adaptable person -- he can only play the "W" persona. He can only be the son of a rich guy. All the reports of the grieving mothers say that he is an empty shell and acted inappropriately (calling Cindy Sheehan -- "mom" for example) and having no interest in learning the names of the fallen soldiers.

If you happened to meet him in a dark bar and didn't know who he was -- you would probably get as far away from him as possible. People like him do not age well -- the boyishness that he's gotten away with for far too long has worn real thin.

13. Bush is a coward and a fraud.
His weapon is utilizing fraud, and "intelligent design" to literally make his arguments and keep his contingent of small supporters in line.

He knows the value of intelligent design, and employs it liberally. Because of all his failures, he has taken it out again and again on his opponents.

We all need to accept it and spread the word around. We should do this on a large scale with teeshirts, bumper-stickers, etc. Keep telling people that we lost and they will start fighting back. * needs his ass kicked out along with all of the rest of the war mongers.

instead, military recruitment is down way down, the GOP won't sacrifice with blood, certainly not with higher taxes. How do they expect to win this? Just shout louder and louder and blame the DEMS??

17. Hackett did not say "We lost..."
He said: "Newsflash: the war is over. We gotta get them home."

Of course, this implies that we lost, but he never did use that phrase, so you shouldn't quote him there.

21. Hackett may not have said it, but the truth is we LOST the Iraq war!
And "more boots on the ground" or better leadership, even under a Democratic Administration, is going to change that.

How many names do we want on a future Iraq War Memorial? That's the only issue that remains, and one that will be answered by events no matter what we say or do in here. For my part, today is not soon enough to bring the troops home!

I'm embarrassed about it and I'll be more careful when I "quote". I should have noted I was paraphrasing, that would have been better. Accuracy is a good thing, it leads to clear communication.

I don't do sarcasm well. Finally, I disagree, your tone comes across perfectly.

36. OK: if he has a problem with saying that word, then I'll say it.
WE LOST. We lost the war in Iraq. The world's strongest military, loses to a country with no military.

How will Bush explain that? As the troops pack up their gear and load the last things onto the trucks, we should review why we lost.

Reasons why we lost the war.

1) There was no popular support for the war. The rest of the world was coerced into going, along with the promise of lots of oil.

2) It cost too much money. We've currently spent about $300 billion. It was too much.

3) There really has not been any rebuilding of Iraq. Almost all the money went to Crony Contractors in the U.S. We ended up destroying a country, and can't afford to fix it.

4) We were fighting a protracted guerrilla war. It was a war of attrition. This is the ONE type of war we cannot fight.

24. It was NEVER a war...
It was an illegal invasion. Nobody can win one of those. I have yet to see evidence of a "War On Terror" anywhere.

This "administration" has spent more time and effort trying to justify their false motives than they have "supporting our troops."

32. We did what Islamacist terrorist leaders wanted,
We could have spent 150 billion on dealing with peak oil. Instead we spent 150 billion on Hee Haw doing a nut dance on a US carrier and Iraq bringing in Islamic law. But just try getting dumbed down Americans to see that. During Viet Nam we had semi-sober leaders trying to get us through a rough time, now we just got frat rats and televangelist degenerates partying on while Rome burns.

33. The Bush Regime , Multi-Natls, and PNAC...
have won so far and I predict they will win in Iraq.

If by winning one means bringing "Democracy" to Iraq then of course
that won't happen but the Amerikan Empire doesn't give a shit about
Democracy. Only Global Capitalism is important.

Bush Regime Iraq Successes

1. Saddam will no longer sell Iraqi oil via the Euro.

2, A military foothold in the ME. Other than Saudi Arabia.

3, No countries will be able to buy Iraqi oil that the U.S. disapproves of.

4. The Multi-Intl. Oil Corps are reaping great profits, esp. Bush Junta fave ally Saudi Dicktatorshit.

The Shi'ites of Iraq have made the deal. They will rule and Amerika
will get what it wants out of Iraq.
