Just watched "Orwell Rolls in His Grave" and I am FIRED UP!

I've been a news junkie long before Gore invented the Internets, and sheepily consumed what was fed to me. I had no idea what I wasn't getting in my daily news consumption. I had even bought the "Liberal Media" BS to a degree.

Fahrenheit 911 was a watershed moment for me. I was stunned by the footage that was shown from the 2001 inauguration. I had been watching a TON of cable news at that time. How was it possible that I could be a consumer of so much CNN, MSNBC, NPR, PBS, et al, yet be completely unaware of the protests that took place. I felt violated.

It was seeing that which opened my eyes to seeing how successfully I was being manipulated by all of the so called "news" I was consuming. I became much more distrusting of what I consumed. This event and others that took place during the last election cycle led me to the last vestige of a free press; Internet sites like DU, Bartcop, and Kos, just to name a few. I totally abandoned corporate "news". It was only then that I saw from the different perspective how most people I knew, regardless of political affiliation, are completely sucked in by the corporate media just as I was.

I believe we are at a critical time in our history. So many people, regardless of political view are like I once was; trusting of the corporate media. The time is now to be preparing for the '06 elections. We don't have a snowball's chance in hell of winning our country back (the way Bushco plays the game) unless we can wake up the sleeping masses to how the corporate cabal currently in power has no qualms about cheating to win. In '06, the cabal has so much at stake. Pandora's box is open; they have already successfully stolen previous elections. If we don't do something, they WILL steal the next one. They have to. They don't want to go to JAIL.

Our window of opportunity is closing. I see some slow progress, but I think our future boils down to this simple question; HOW CAN WE ACCELERATE THE AVERAGE AMERICAN'S DISTRUST OF THE CORPORATE MEDIA?

5. Between stolen elections and a bought media, our very country

is doomed, and there's no doubt in my mind that the next step for these people is to install a tyrant and we will become just like so many countries who never imagined the freedom we once had. Sad.
