L.B. mayor and/or Arkansas senator

Politics: Edd Tuttle, a former councilman, may run for both.

LONG BEACH — Some City Council members leave office and fade into the comfortable obscurity of everyday life.

Others find their calling in higher political office.

And then there are those, like former Councilman Edd Tuttle, who fall somewhere in between.

True to his unique form, Tuttle announced in a press release Friday that he may return to public life by running for mayor of Long Beach in 2006 even though he lives in Arkansas and is running for U.S. Senate there.
