Fletcher Subpoenaed In Hiring Investigation

Kentucky Governor Ernie Fletcher has been subpoenaed to appear before a special grand jury investigating personnel practices within his administration.

The special grand jury has previously summoned virtually all of Fletcher's top staff.

Thus far, nine current or former members of Fletcher's administration have been indicted on a series of misdemeanor charges alleging violations of the Merit System personnel law.

One person, dismissed former Transportation Cabinet commissioner Dan Druen, also has been named in 22 indictments for witness or evidence tampering.

1. WOW! I didn't even know there was a GJ invest. in KY.
The only one I heard about was Ohio, and of course the one Fitz is heading on the Plame matter.

Wonder if there's a way to find out just how many GJ's are investigating politicians across the US?

So far they're all Pubs too!

4. Evan Mecham redux
Since the Rethug campaign machine is constructed largely on graft, embezzlement, and corruption I'm merely surprised there aren't more indictments such as this one. I just hope those attorneys do a little more digging.
