The reason why Democrats should go for the jugular on Bush.
He has gotten his way on everything for the past 5 years and it has been a disaster. Since the GOP is the party of business-they know the CEO has to produce. He has produced for upper income people, but they are not the majority. The Democrats have every right to use him as a punching bag until he Quits or is impeached.

1. I agree. The republicans have had total control for a couple of years now,
and now the proof is in the pudding - when republicans are in charge, everything goes to fuck.

3. At least half of the Democratic "leaders"
Agree with the core Neocon/neoliberal corporate agenda. Consequently their 'attacks' are muted to say the least. The War Party controls the Republican leadership and has dominated, although not completely controlled, the Democratic leadership.

They don't speak out against the globalization/free trade disaster. They don't speak out against the Oil War, at best they claim to be able to manage the war better than bush. They accept the corporate framing that social security needs 'reform' and seek to disguise benefit cuts and outright theft of funds within their reform proposals. Universal healthcare? Not on their agenda. Tuition assistance? Say what? How can they go for the jugular when they would be choking themselves to death?

4. you need to read some Dr Renana Brooks.. she is a shrink, does Bu$h, LINK>
go to http://www.goggle.com and type in

'Renana Brooks and Bush' to answer all the questions about why/how he gets away with what he does for the NEOCON's

you will get a collection of her articles that really Nails His Sociopathic Ass to the WALL...

she explains his "Hollow" language style.. why his poll's are in the toilet and 53% still love him.

she describes him as using ALL the language of a Wife Beater, he uses the same abusive psychological brain washing as an abusive spouse.

and read the link in my Signature.. by Katherine van Wormer, check her and bush out too..

7. Bush Has His Way
And he will continue to have his way until the Demos get control of Congress, at least the House. So, we have to wait until the elections in '06 to even begin to get back control. In the meantime, we can only hope members of his own party see what he is doing to our country and the world and take him on and they have already started. They are the ones who can bring him down!!!

14. you are wrong and history shows it.
recently i have seen comments like yours around here, totally feckless that are wishful thinking and do not conform to objective reality.

The Republicans and Bush don't need our help to tighten the noose they've slugged around their necks. The American people know they are to blame for all of this and more.

not only do they need our help in hanging them, without it, they will get away with it again.

if you point to the pols as prima fascia evidence that bush and the busheviks are in decline, you are going to have to show how that is transformed into democratic victories at the polls.

as to your:

instead we're talking about ideas like instead we're talking about ideas like ending this war, and media reform, and election reform, and getting the budget under control, and health care, and you name it, we got it. They have nothing but failure.

Republicans would ATTACK. We don't need to lower ourselves to that level we got it. They have nothing but failure.

Republicans would ATTACK. We don't need to lower ourselves to that level

ideas alone do not win elections. the ideas have to be shown to be better than the ideas of the other side. the media has shown a distinct propensity to side with a corporate party line that aligns itself with the GOP. the media, that "Mighty Wurlitzer" referred to as "Conventional Wisdom" is shading its description of events and ideas to the benefit of those currently in power. while the ideas of the democrats may be beautiful music, if the notes the people hear are either dampened or distorted they become meaningless. all one need do is read the washington post's editorials or most major broadcast news to see that the democrats hardly get an even presentation of their ideas to the public to see that.

do yourself (and us) a favor before you preach such nonsense around here, go out to a shopping mall and ask 20 people you meet at random to tell you where the democrats stand on ending this war, and media reform, and election reform, and getting the budget under control, and health care, and you name it see what responses you get.

what you will find is a ball of confusion about the issues from most of those people that will hardly hearten the soul as to whether or not the democrats can win elections soely because their "ideas" are better.

here's clue for you, the democrats ALWAYS have better ideas, but it has been as useful as a gob of spit on a hot sidewalk in winning elections for the past dozen years in congress.

you remind me of the guy who wants to use bad language to kill a snake because he doesn't like guns.

15. So right...
Just like they attacked Jimmy Carter...Just like they attacked Bill Clinton...Just like they attacked John Kerry....Just like they attacked Cindy Sheehan. That is exactly what they do. They attack you personally. Democrats prefer to attack ideas. They must let the Repubs know that if they attack us persoanlly, they will be attacked personally. We must fight fire with fire...no matter how unnatural it is for us.

10. That's right. Give Bush the actor an opportunity to play the victim.
Yes, he's been a disaster, but they're are smarter ways to take down this "juggernaut" than going for the jugular.

12. We Don't Need to go for the Jugular
We do need a few short sound bites to take care of the mess he has gotten us into.

"When his lips move, he lies."

"Everything he touches turns to dog doo."

"If it's his idea, it won't work."

etc., etc., etc.

16. Democrats Need More Disapline.
The biggest problem with the dems is that they aren't disaplined. Some DLC dino is more likely to attack Dean than the other side. This crap has to end. we need to get solid real liberals to run against these dinos, joe lieberman target #1. Or...

Is there any way we can just kick them out of the party?

17. Thoughts ...
While there is the potential that he will implode, this man will NEVER step down ... It isn't going to happen, he is far to blockheaded, and even though it is going to increasingly worse for this admin, you still will have the "grassroot" support of brainless R/Cons, corporate media, and great numbers in Congress ...

Even IF the Ds can take one side of house back, and actually get hearings on any of the laundry list of shit these pukebags have done, it will take the full two years just to fight through the resistance to get it done ... AND, again, this guy is so freakin obtuse, if he got impeached today, it would take a military action for him to leave office ...

THAT being said ... I agree that Ds need to ride the wave ... The trick is, they have to have the right people up front, the Hacketts, Allen from Ohio ... Dean ... The people who are tough enough to mix it up, take a shot and give it back ...

Also, they just HAVE to find a way to utilize the media more effectively ... There is PLENTY of hard evidence in the form of contradictions and just plain stupid shit these idiots have said over the last five years to put together hard hitting commercials that would REALLY put a hurt on them ...

Commercial ...
Clip 1 - Bobo landing on an air craft carrier and saying, "Mission accomplished ..." and date ...
Clip 2 - Bobo saying, "Bring them on" about the insurgents ...
Clip 3 - Cheney saying "the insurgency is in its last throes .."
Clip 4 - Rumsfeld saying it could be 10 years ...
Clip 5 - Bobo saying, "our enemys never stop thinking of ways to hurt us, and neither do we ..."
