A challenge: How would you personally attack these Repubs?
Not attack their ideas but attack them personally, much as the Repubs would do to them if they were Democrats. Start practicing...pick one!

1. Chuck Hagel

2. Bill Frist

3. Newt Gingrich

4. Mitt Romney

5. George Allen

6. Jeb Bush

7. Dick Cheney

1. They're all losers except Hagel and he's a challenging.
I don't know that much about him. The really damning material, that he owned the company that counted the votes when he spanked Ben Nelson in 1996 might fly if that general problem ever blows up.

Hagel has positioned himself so well as a 'liberal' Republican, it's difficult to jump out there right away.

Some serious research is called for on him. He's probably to 'reasonable' for the right wing to nominate.

The rest of them are going down so fast, you need full motion video to capture the image. Any of them would be just fine, Hagel, that's another question.

2. Well, I'd start by saying to Dick Cheney
I find it ironic that you, a man with five deferments who said you "had better things to do" felt it was right and proper to address the Order of the Purple Heart. Didn't you feel shamed when they came to shake your hand? Did any of them ask your opinion of the bandaids your party gave out during the convention? Personally, I don't feel you had the right to even shine any of these brave people's shoes, much less address them. Bet you couldn't look them in the eye.

3. Chuck Hagel didn't really deserve his Vietnam medals.
That's a start I guess.

Newtie, you could bring up the business of his serving his wife with divorce papers when she had just come out of cancer surgery, then letting her and his children live on church charity while he went off with another woman. I don't think Republicans care about that sort of thing if it was done by one of them though. I think you'd get farther with smearing Chuck Hagel's war record. They don't honor the service of either Dems or Repubs.

5. Gingrich & Jeb
Gingrich: The man told his wife he wanted a divorce when she was in the hospital with cancer. What kind of man is that? Not much of one.

Jeb: His daughter's repeated drug offenses are rooted in miserable parenting. If Bush can't be enough of an example to influence his daughter's life, what kind of example will he set for an entire nation's children?

she had a form of MS, and then got an annulment from the Catholic Church so that he could marry #3.

11. Well, I for one think we should!
You can't fight a killer with a knife when your opposition has rifles and bombs, now, can ya?

I know most Dems say we don't want to stoop to their level, but taking the high road just hasn't worked!

We have to fight the enemy in the trenches and it's damn dirty down there!

I didn't say lie, and although those you referenced do, most of the Pubs don't. They just select things out of context, and make accusations that aren't true. We haven't been very good at making sure people don't believe them, have we?

10. I'll take on Jeb!
Jeb's record in Florida is a demonstration of how BAD a Governor can possibly be!

His Child Pretection Service looses kids, has let children remain in homes and they DIED!

He hasn't even tried to fix illegal immigration problems.

He spent much of the States $$ interfering in the personal family decisions in the Schiavo case.

He has done absolutely NOTHING to fix the voting systems in his State!

And worst of all, if he were to be elected President, he would be establishing a "Royal Family" of America! That is illegal under the US Constitution!!!!

Chuck Hagel - Classic Flip-flopper. First he's for the war, now he's for pulling out.

Bill Frist - Owner of the largest chain of privately-owned hospitals in the U.S. where for-$$$ abortions are still performed.

Newt Gingrich -- Serial Filanderer. Divorced three times. His current wife was the one he was fooling around with behind his then-wife's back, when he attacked Clinton for his "thing" with Monica. Hypocrite. Why does he get a free pass from all those Republican "Values Voters"?

Mitt Romney -- Nice hair, good teeth, no heart. A light-weight in the brains department. Anti-women's rights, anti-Gay rights, pro-taxcuts for the rich. Likes to gut public schools, especially in the inner cities. First name could be short for "Mittens", but no one is sure.

Jeb Bush - Another in a long line of losers from the shallow end of the gene pool that is the family Bush, and he's Momma "Beautiful Mind" Bush's favorite. 'Nuff said: Terry Shiavo.

Dick Cheney - Literally and figuratively without a working heart. War profiteer via Halliburton. Is in favor of war-without-end. Nice wife, though. :sarcasm:

18. Don't take everything so seriously people..it ain't gonna happen!
Democrats will still continue to take the principled stand and discuss the merits of the issues and will be on the right side of the issues and the Republicans will bring out the Swift Boat veterans and chop us off at the knees and we can whine and complain for four more years. So don't worry. We will continue to be the principled Party and we will continue to be losers in the election. But at least, we will have our integrity.

23. Only a handicap when you are naive about them....
You have a right to defend yourself. If a bunch of Swiftboat people are telling lies about you, you have a right to fight back. Not only a right, you have an obligation. Principles and integrity are a handicap if you permit them to prevent you from understanding that the future of the nation and your children are at stake. Then it could be argued that you were taking a principled stand by fighting back. That does not mean that you have to lie. But if they attack you personally, surely they are not totally invulnerable themselves? If they want to talk the issues, we are more than ready to debate them.

24. Well...this is the first time you have put it in the context of "fighting
back". Why do you feel like you have to personal to "fight back"?

If you believe in your principles it should be quite easy to fight back. You just have to believe them and not be ashamed of them.

if your opponent is calling you a flip-flopper and a liar, you will lose. People will not vote for a flip-flopper or a liar. Have we not learned that yet??

42. What was principled
about not fighting like a tiger to stop an illegal war that they knew would kill tens of thousands of people?

What would have been unprincipled about using every weapon available, figuratively speaking, to stop the war machine in its tracks?

I think that those who voted for that war resolution were unprincipled and that was at least half the Democrats in the Senate, and about the same in the House.

If I wanted to attack Dick Cheney, I would challenge him to a debate on television during which I play back all the lies he told about WMDs and then I would display pictures of the victims of his lies ~ the children, the body parts of innocent civilians. Then I would ask him how a man can be so evil in front of the entire world.

I would publicly ask Newt Gingrich how a man could allow his family to live in poverty while he cavorted around Washington pretending to care about this country as he moralized about the behavior of other people ~

I would ask Jeb Bush how much he knew about the corruption in the Florida 2000 election, and how anyone could feel good about cheating to get the top, as his brother did, many believe, with his help.

39. Why did Dick Cheney raise his daughter to be a lesbian?
Homosexuality, as most conservatives agree, is a choice affected by upbringing. It is also, as much evangelicals agree, a sin in the eyes of God.

Why, then, did Dick Cheney raise his daughter to be a sinner?

Why did Dick Cheney raise his daughter to be a lesbian?
