Ohio Democrats Mull Governor Impeachment
COLUMBUS, Ohio - Ohio's House Democrats are considering impeachment proceedings against Republican Gov. Bob Taft, who pleaded no contest last week to four ethics violations.

House Minority Leader Chris Redfern said Sunday that Democrats had made no decision yet about whether to seek Taft's ouster — impeachment would be difficult if not impossible with Republicans controlling both houses of the Legislature.

But he said they had asked the Legislature's legal research arm to outline the impeachment process so they understand it when they meet Tuesday to discuss a response.

"Impeachment is such a serious thing, and it's not something to be careless about," Redfern said. "But we would all do well as members of the House to understand what the process is."

The House Democrats will also consider other alternatives, including asking Taft to resign, Redfern said.

Governor's press secretary Mark Rickel did not immediately return calls seeking comment Sunday.

1. Even if they do feel such is impossible considering the control of
both houses are decidely in the Republican favor, I hope more of these articles begin to hit the airwaves and newswires world wide, Lord knows there are plenty that should be facing such actions and it should be noted over and over again until such time as the America people get tired of seeing them get away with what the average citizen could not.

4. if we delay a little while
the whole thing will last longer, maybe to next election
and it will give a chance for Noe and Taft to throw
accusations at each other

9. Also need to focus
on the other crooks involved, namely Petro, Montgomery, Blackwell, Voinovich,Ney, Husted and others. There's nothing the GOP would like more than to let Noe & Taft take each other out, leaving the real crooks unscathed to pick up where they left off.

Taft isn't the big crook here - there are much, much bigger ones.

7. Yes Impeachment is very very serious.
That is exactly why you put the freaking Party Games away! This is not about democrats nor republicans. It's not about having a good time doing anything you damn well please until the break of dawn. This is in no way Democracy. It's Mob Rule!
What the Governor of Ohio is telling the good people of Ohio is this. Yes by my own admission I am corrupt. I am a criminal. I am a crook.
What the Republican dominant Legislature of Ohio would be telling the good people of Ohio is this. Yes he is a crook. But he is our crook. Do you know what we your overlords are going to allow you to do about his crimes? NOT A DAMNED THING! We will victimize you anytime we damned well please. Do you know what you are going to do about that? NOT A DAMNED THING! For OURS is this kingdom, the power, and the glory. Forever and ever and that is a mighty long time. Now shut up and go away. Before YOU force US to victimize you again. Do you know what your going to do about that? NOT A DAMNED THING!

Toss the ball out. If they want to play party games. Walk out and walk away. If the good people of Ohio want Mob Rule. Then Mob Rule is what they should have. It's as close as you get to Democracy in that situation. Give the People what they want. Welcome them to Iraq West. Say a prayer for them that they do not end up being tortured in prisons. That they are not discovered in Mass Graves after the restoration of Democracy in 0hio. Then leave the State and head for DC. Go before the Senate, not as politicians, as Americans. Never mention either party. Inform the Senate that Ohio has succeeded from the rule of law. Democracy no longer exists there. That Ohio is now at the mercy of Mob Rule.

This matter is far too serious to be playing any games of any kind, at any time, and for any reason. It is rule of law or nothing at all!

8. At least it might stop their legislative agenda

Ohio GOP is still trying to slam a lot of bad legislation through the GA under the radar, shoveling tax dollars out the door to every business and agricultural interest you can think of. It may also serve to slow down some GOP cover up activity in state government, perhaps give broader subpoena powers (I'm no legal expert).

It will also force media coverage of the scandal. Many newspapers are still trying to ignore the scandal or burying it in the business section hoping it will go away.
