5. They also mentioned the WHIG group in the WH. |
|
I just called and my Mom has my Dad watching it with her. He isn't happy with what is going on in Iraq but he doesn't yet believe how much it was preordained and pushed by the WH - so I was glad to hear the DSM mentioned.

I already know the whole story.
Colin Powell should go and hide in shame under a rock in the middle of the desert for his dishonarable speech at the UN.
He knew what he was doing.

4. so far, it is pretty well done. |
|
Right now, at this moment, Cheney looks like a liar, Bush a dissembler and Blair, uncomfortable.
The ex-CIA they have talking, well, methinks the axes are ground sharp.
so far, not bad at all.

13. Come on...this isn't Faux...don't stick your fingers in your ears and |
|
sing "la la la la..." or you'll end up like the ones on the other side that only watch what they want to hear. We need to know what is being disseminated in the wider world and what people are watching.
So far, so good...just saw a picture of the Chimp looking like, well...a chimp.
Actually, it is quite good so far, and you might feel heartened.

|
That I do not buy. Kay came from the CIA. I cannot believe that he had not heard about Cheney's visits and the pressure on analysts to give Cheney what he wanted to get the Congressional Resolution they needed to go to war in Iraq.

25. I was hoping that Powell and Tenant were the sources for this Report... |
|
That's mostly why I couldn't watch it...I don't know who to believe on all of this. I DON'T SEE ANY GOOD GUYS IN IT!... But, I do understand that sometimes I'm too hard core Lefty....and maybe need to have more "FAITH" than I have had since the 2000 SELECTION."
I hope that this CNN thing is good enough to WAKE UP AMERICA...FGS...we here on DU have been working longer than WWII Lasted for America on getting folks to WAKE UP..SMELL THE BUSHIES! It makes some of us...so tired...but we gotta Keep AT IT! If not US then WHO?
Good for CNN with this...if it's a new Beginning for Them...

26. Powell's deputy was featured prominently, surely had Powell's permission. |
|
Powell definitely wanted to separate himself from this mess in Iraq. Interesting, the man noted that Tenet came back to Powell three or four times saying we were wrong about this or that.
I understand Powell is writing a book. Perhaps we will hear more. He let himself be used to sell the lies to take our country to war by the despicably weak George Tenet who failed to stand up for his agency and his agents and sold out--for what?
Certainly not the Medal of Freedom.

28. Where was this before election |
|
The one thing that really blows is that every network should have been on this BEFORE the election, but I guess the only real reporter Woodward (yeah right) had his head up Bush's ass writing his book about the war.

34. Yeah, that's the sad part, this should have all be investigated |
|
and reported on before and during the election. It appears that the media was playing favorites or were bulled into not reporting the truth. They are as guilty as some in this current administration of distorting the facts, suppressing the truth and misleading the public. If not for the media's complicity with this administration, done to sway public opinion for the war and against Democrats, Kerry would be our President now.

29. Sounds like it's worth a "Re-Watch" or "First Watch." at 11:00 p.m. EDT |
|
and some DU'ers have said it repeats at 2:00 a.m.
I won't be up for that but you Californians who do "shift" jobs might make it or just TAPE it LIKE I DID while "moderate to left hubbie watched it for me...chicken coward...who couldn't deal with it.
Sounds like it was worth a watch if one doesn't have to make too much effort.

32. It was worth watching |
|
They even mentioned the DSM, had a shot of the line 'fixing the facts around the policies'.
Colin Powell's aide said he had never been involved in the Iraq war!!!
There WERE some good guys ~ Rand Beers quit rather than participate in the lies. And Larry Johnson, who testified for Conyers, was on and was very factual, as expected.
The clip of Condy saying 'we don't want to wait until we see mushroom clouds' ~ which they showed AFTER letting people know that this was a lie, made me want to go through the TV and slap her, knowing how many people died as a result of her outright lies.
None of them looked good ~ it was of the quality of a Frontline piece, imo. I got the feeling I was watching hearings ~ a sort of promo for things to come.
They also talked about Curveball ~ being a drunk and a liar. And Cheney going to the CIA all the time and the fact that from now on 'dissent' MUST be allowed.
The only thing I did not already know was that, after convincing everyone that Saddam had WMDs and might use them, the White House did not ask for a NIA. Everyone said that was VERY unusual.
I think that means 'National Intel. Assessment. According to the experts, if there's any chance of a war, this must be, and always has been done. The reason is that they need to assess what the troops will be facing on the ground, and this WH DID NOT ASK FOR IT!!
That can only mean one of two things. They didn't care what the troops would be facing, OR, they knew there were NO WMDS!!!
All facts, imo. A very rare thing on MSM these days. It is definitely worth watching, and I'm astonished it was allowed to be aired. The WH must definitely be losing control ~
Colin Powell knew when he went to the UN the drawings etc were most likely not legitimate. He refused to use the Uranium from Niger intel. because he knew the documents were forged.
Still, he could have stopped this war by quitting. Instead, he told Tenet that he was 'verifying it' and that he wanted him 'sitting right next to me ON CAMERA' when he made the presentation ~ he wanted it to look like the CIA approved of what he was saying.
They all should be indicted ~ I hope their next documentary will be 'The Downing Street Memos'. They did a good job for once.

33. Colin "I will be forever be known as the one who made the case" Powell |
|
Powell's chief of staff Lawrence Wilkerson made very clear that Powell was very angry with George Tenet who called him three or four times, after his U.S. speech, to say what I told you about the aluminum tubes, the mobile bioweapons labs, etc. was wrong.
George Tenet let himself be used by the Bush administration, thereby betraying the CIA and the American people.
