I also know of one Gore voter that simply didn't vote because he was convinced Kerry would "take away his guns".

2. Two of my aunts accidently voted for Buchanan in Florida |
|
They meant to vote for Gore.. They had some major screwed up ballot that made it look like they selected Gore... But it was whacked out butterfly type ballot that was counted for Pat Buchanan..
They were so distraught about getting bogus hard to understand butterfly ballots.
Had Gore's name been in the same place as Bush's on the butterfly ballot, and Bush's where Gore's was.. it would have been Bush getting the Pat votes.
Instead.. it worked out perfectly for Bush and Cheney

From Florida - we were surprised in summer, 2002 when she said that although she voted for Gore, she was glad that Bush was President on 911 because he was a strong leader - She had asked a group of us if we weren't glad he was President instead of Gore and was surprised when about 6 of us said, "NO" in unison - very emphatically.
Another person didn't vote in 2000, but voted because her pastor urged them to vote for the moral candidate. When told this after the election - I told her it was far easier to make a case for Kerry having a moral core - and it didn't require ignoring 40 years of his life. Neither the facts nor I carry the weight of her pastor's advice, illegal though it was.

but I know 4 Gore voters who abstained from voting in 2004 because although they hated chimpy, they didn't like nor trust Kerry.
