When congress reconvenes, will we see Dems throwing elbows???
When I saw Russ Finegold stealing some headlines, I began to wonder what kind of free for all we are going to see in the Dem ranks when Congress reconvenes---and in the Repub ranks, too. The 'election' may be years away BUT the ambitious are already raising money; thus, the wannabe's have to join in now or be run over. And, any wannabe Dems need to steal headlines from wannabe Repubs or they will have the usual citizen reaction in '08 of "huh, duh, never heard of da' guy". The Repubs are going to have to break apart and go at each other, too, if they want the spotlight. Should be damn interesting. And about time...........hope Georgie get's neutered in the brawl!!!

1. Congressional democrats have bones?

I think most of them (with Feingold a rare exception) resemble jellyfish (spineless and elbow-less).

2. I doubt it
I guess if they smell enough blood in the water and have enough corporate support, they will speak up a little. But don't count on it.

3. Congress will break into 2 camps: anti-war/anti-Bushitler, and

those who will be fired in '06.

It doesn't appear the split will be entirely along party lines.

7. Well I disagree with that
Feingold is one of my favorite people but there are several Dem's who are great. Boxer, Kennedy, Kerry, Schumer, Levin, Lautenberg, Reed, and Dorgan and others are all worth plenty.

6. Hope the Dems throw more than that !!
When the August recess is up, the Dems need to come back to Washington loaded for bear. Rested, ready and on the same page!

Dems need to ratchet up the pressure on the war DAILY if not HOURLY. Repubs have the majority in both the House & Senate and the WH, and Dems need to hammer that fact home every chance they get. All this has happened on their watch.

Moderate Repubs need to be confronted on their continued unity with Bush and Co, and the neo-cons. We need to split them and their support off of the Bush majority, and highlight the split as a groundswell change in the way things will be done now that GWB is a lameduck Pres stuck to an unnecessary war he created with no plans to win, and poll numbers in the gutter.

If this is done right, Repubs will be bolting for the doors to get away from Bush. You know party unity that depends upon fear of retribution to instill party discipline disappears quickly once that fear is gone.
