Poll question: Hagel vs. Hillary
OK, you knew someone had to do it! so here it is! Imagine you are voting in Ohio so it really counts. Who do you vote for for predident? (Feel free to substitute Ross Perot for your personal third party hero)

1. Hobson's choice.
No matter who wins, we lose.

2. Hagel is way too conservative for me.
Anyone who thinks that Hillary is conservative needs to check out Hagel's voting record.

I give Hagel credit for his departure from the company line on Iraq, but that's about it.

3. Where's the "moving to another country" choice?
Geez.. what's that old saying? If you give people the choice between a Republican and a Republican, they'll choose the Republican every time?

Hagel would win in a snap in the RL because the left would be disenfranchized and the moderates would dane to vote for Hillary.

7. I gave you "other"
where's the love for Ross? I was expecting a few votes for 3rd party and some explanations complete with names of people I'd never heard of! Still plenty of time.

13. I don't want a third-party candidate. I want the correct Dem candidate.
Hopefully one who remembers that the Democratic Party is about people and not corporations.

:)

4. Hillary may not be MY Democratic choice...
But in this case at least she'd be A Democratic choice!

B-)

6. I would vote Hillary
Because a President Hillary would be a lot better than a President Jeb/McCain/Hagel/etc.

8. I'm not saying anything against this poll....
but didn't a poll with the same choice (perhaps without Perot) get shut down by the mods the other day? Something about not showing support for a Republican on a Democratic board.

Anyway, I choose "OTHER."

10. Can't I just vote for Bush again?
Not that I actually voted for him the first times but since my vote was thrown in the trash, it was sort of like voting for him. I'll miss the little prick when he's gone. I really will. Clinton was doing too good of a job diverting attention away from politics but Bush, he really gets people involved. That's what I'm looking for in a President, someone who can really engage the people and get them interested in the political future of our country, not some mamby pamby "I'll do a good job so you don't have to do anything" sort of guy. What fun is that?

...to the LARGE International Corportations and seemed to realize that without a Middle Class, America dies!

16. Why don't folks just put up a poll on "Hillary vs. Pol Pot"
Anybody can win against artificial straw men (a Repub candidate on a DU board? C'mon-- the fact that Hagel *did* get so many votes on here is awfully scary) and look spuriously better. Hillary and the other DLCers have betrayed the most basic Dem Party principles to embrace the Neocon line. Even if they could win the nomination, they'd split the Dems just like 1860 or worse, and considering the alienation their pro-war sentiment is causing, they've already lost the rank and file.

18. I'll take Pol-Pot!
He's dead, so he can't fuck up the country any worse. Unlike a DLC president posing as a Democrat and continuing the destructive policies of the PNAC fraudministration.

20. Pol Pot is dead!
It would be embarrassing if Pol Pot were to beat Hillary in a poll just as the late Mel Carnahan beat John Ashcroft.
