|
Edited on Tue Aug-23-05 05:39 PM by Roland99
"This is no extremist cleric..."
Uhh....YES IT IS!! DAMNIT! WAKE UP, MSM!!
They are showing some of his prior inflammatory statements (saying Muslims aren't capable of being judges) and his hypocrisy (against gambling but owns a racehorse.)

In my opinion, they lower their own credibility when they have this nut job on.

I saw that same report and it was pretty hard on Robertson. I was pleasantly surprised to see at as the number 2 story on the NBC news.

It's time the media started to call these bastards for what they are: extremist/militant fundamentalist clerics.

10. He is a mainstream republican. |
|
And every republican voter is a vital supporter of Robertson, Falwell, Dobson and all the others of their vile ilk. In fact, the republican voters who not agree with the republican taliban are its most vital supporters. If all of those voters refused to support Robertson and the others by refusing to vote republican, how much power and influence over the federal government would those sick fucks have? I always tell republican family and friends that they are the most vital supporters Pat Robertson has.

23. ABC Family Channel used to be owned by Pat Robertson |
|
It was originally called "CBN Cable" back in the 80's and they would follow the 700 Club with reruns of the old 60's "Batman" series. Ironic enough given the usual "gay" rumors about that show.
Around the same time Pat ran for President and formed the "Christian" Coalition, there was apparently some legal/tax issues as to whether a commercial cable TV channel should be operated as part of a ministry, so they spun the network off as "The Family Channel", but Pat retained ownership of the network.
Some time in the mid 90's he sold the network to Rupert Murdoch and it operated as the "FOX Family Channel" for several years. Probably about 4 or 5 years ago, Disney/ABC acquired the channel. Not sure of the details of that transaction, but in any event, I'm sure Pat's original contract with Murdoch insured that the 700 Club would always be aired on The Family Channel.
This being the case, I doubt they would ever refuse to air the show.

Those we accept as mild-mannered, middle of the road spiritual people in this country are, in truth, bloodthirsty hatemongers. We have some serious soul-searching to do in this country; our norms are getting more and more extreme.
