Just saw a brief clip of * speaking today on CNN....a sick man!
I know that even in the best of times he is quite a chimp like, eternally befuddled and intellectually challenged character, but he looks positively terrible - face sagging, crooked, agter just watching a few min of him he looks like someone who is barely holding it together and, perhaps, about to come completely unglued. The pressure of constant lying, perhaps????

1. That's why he's rarely allowed out to speak or see the public.
He's got to be the least seen president of modern times. Hell, I'd never even heard of the bastard when he ran for President the first time. :(

...ran for President the first time."
BINGO!
The Republicans in 2000 had at least a few candidates of distinction and accomplishment (McCain, Libby Dole and Lamar Alexander), but none of them could get any cash, publicity or traction with the voters. That is to say that the nomination was a totally brokered deal.
The playbook was the same as with Reagan---the powers of the party thought that they were getting an affable, personable pitchman for policies which were clearly extreme, and they supplied the figurehead with a saavy VP, Cheney, as they had done for Reagan (Bush I).
But guess what...their pitchman proved to be even only barely functional---stupid, sociopathic and unable to carry out even the minimum ceremonial tasks of the job. And as Fitzgerald closes in, the public gets more aware of the total mess which they have created, and the opposition solidifies, their figurehead is no help, and indeed cannot even be sent out to meet a grieving mother for fear that he would blow it.
I would rejoice in their complete failure, except that all of us will pay an enormous price.

18. it's like Iran-Conta, Op. Northwoods, and more to the infinite power
As the limit process proceeds, this whole thing explodes beyond the physical limits of the system.

We need a Church Committee to the infinite power on its heels, if we even make it through this with the constitutional apparatus still in place.

2. Well,
you have to remember each lie you told to cover the previous lie(s). It gets to be a terrible burden after a while -- or as the president calls it, "hard work."

3. Someone was saying that...
he said that Cindy Sheehan didn't represent the people he'd met. Is this true? If so, did someone point out to him that if you refuse meet with people who disagree with you, it's a pretty hollow thing to say... Oh wait, I keep forgetting that logic, reason, facts, etc. have no place in this man's mind.

BTW - read your profile - you just joined today? Happy DU Birthday then! Glad you found your way over here. Those of us who are addicted to this place find it a true refuge. A shady, green oasis in the midst of a VERY large, dry, barren desert.

5. "That Sheehan woman is driving me crazy...
Edited on Tue Aug-23-05 06:34 PM by Sequoia
Man, on man, why can't she just go home and cook and clean for her family like a decent woman would do, like in the Bible. I'm on vacation, and being President is hard work. Hard work I tell ya, and I've got brush to clean and I can't even go outside for her and that crowd of 'merican hating liberals. I'll never bend down to a woman's wishes, just ask Laura. Never. And you can't make me 'cause I don't have to explain myself. Maybe you do, but I don't."

13. You mean it's hard work to pick up a
handful of brush for a photo-op. The chimp has never really "cleared brush" a day in his life. Hell, he's never WORKED a day in his life. I hate the basta*d!!

20. Bush is wearing thin, advisers, must be laying it on thick with
the worse numbers of his presidency - he decided to stay on vacation for the same amount of days Nixon did (who currently holds the record for vacationed days while in office.

Right now me thinks he would like to cut the vacation short and just go on some phoney world tour, visit Iraq? - yeah right!! he's feeling the weight, this is great, wait till cindy and CO. arrive in Washington!

Viva Cindy Sheehan - Viva Cindy Sheehan!!!

14. Perhaps they have his meds mis-adjusted again?
Someone here at DU was pretty good at observing someone and then predicting what sort of meds would show up in a tox screen.

But I also believe we are seeing a highly immature person close to the breaking point.

Bushie is a person who never grew up -- I estimate is has the personality development of a 10 year old boy -- a spoiled rotten 10 year old boy.

At first he had fun playing at being da Prez -- he could swing his little legs in the big chairs.

Then when the bad people made the big building fall all down -- the people really loved him and he was the ultimate cheer leader -- "Go Team" and everyone cheers -- and he thinks they are cheering for him because he plays the role of a grown up man.

But he is merely holding up a mask of a grown up man -- and that mask is really getting heavy and it slips every so often.

His handlers can't shield him from everyone who holds him in contempt --

Sheehan and the other mothers need to keep up the pressure on his tiny ego. We need to do whatever we can to support the Gold Star mothers and fathers.

So, maybe we'll see a meltdown on live TV?? Payback is going to be a bitch and I can't wait! Rove & Cheney don't seem to be smiling lately, maybe they can conjure up another high level security alert on Manhattan like they did several months back?....nah! don't think so!
