we are losing troops daily, bush goes fishing, what the f**k is wrong here
something is horribly wrong here. the country is a mess, we are losing more and more troops everyday in the hellhole we created in iraq because of all the lies, and our "president", who is afraid of a greiving mother, heads for the hills. http://famulus.msnbc.com/famulusgen/ap08-23-170657.asp?t=APNEW

''I'm kind of hanging loose, as they say,'' Bush said earlier outside of his lodge at the 9-month-old Tamarack Resort, where he was spending two nights away from his Texas ranch.
Bush spent part of the day with Idaho Gov. Dirk Kempthorne, although the governor wasn't always able to keep up with the brisk pace Bush set on his morning laps around the pine-studded grounds.
''Did they come by this way?'' Kempthorne asked a uniformed officer as he rode past a checkpoint Tuesday morning about two minutes behind the presidential cycling pack.
Shortly before 4 p.m., the president and first lady Laura Bush took a short ride to a nearby lake spotted with small whitecaps. The couple were joined by Kempthorne and his wife on the small pontoon boat that had been stocked with fishing gear.
White House spokesman Trent Duffy said Bush fished for a couple of hours, but he had no word on whether the president caught anything.

But on second thought, maybe THAT's why Jeff Gannon isn't allowed around the White House anymore.

4. just proves the point that * doesn't give a rat's Patooty about the troops
this is about the most callous thing he can do in a time like this. And then to sang that he was going to "hang loose" today and maybe do some fishing. I can't see how any parent of a son or daughter in Iraq could support this sicko. Why can't these adoring * loyalists see him for what he really is...a spoiled, shielded warmongerer who could care less about the casualties of this war.

Now off to clear some brush and don't forget to "watch this drive"!

11. Making progress?
59 American soldiers were killed in the first two-and-a-half weeks of August, including more members of the National Guard and Reserve than in any month since the war began. Iraqi leaders missed the first deadline for approving a Constitution.
And yet George Bush, on a five-week vacation at his ranch in Texas, insists that we are "making progress" in Iraq. Making progress? How so?...

The Bush Administration's insistence on pursuing its current failing strategy and its inability to come clean about its own mistakes are largely responsible for our lack of real progress in Iraq...

The Iraqi security forces that we have been hearing about for more than two years have still not materialized.

What's the Plan?

President Bush emerges from his Texas compound this week to make two speeches about Iraq in an effort to restore sagging public support for his war and his presidency.

But news reports suggest it's unlikely that he will answer the many questions being raised by the country's increasingly vocal antiwar movement.

The major thing going wrong is all them military folks dying. So inconvenient for their pretty, pretty pictures of President Permanent Vacation to have to interrupt themselves for news of some more traitorous soldiers getting killed just so they can embarrass the president.

I have a slightly different opinion.

39. Oh, quitcher bitchin!
Presidents have always taken vacations during wartime.

Didn't you learn in school about Abe Lincoln's caving expedition during the Battle of Gettysburg? Honest Abe was a well-regarded spelunker, and never passed up a chance to go down.

FDR was a heck of a trout fisherman, and was in the water up to his chin on the day we bombed Nagasaki.

JFK took a little trip to Acapulco to do some cliff diving during the Bay of Pigs invasion. J. Edgar Hoover had some pictures of the energetic Prez and Marilyn Monroe playing "otter and clam", which he put to good use later.

LBJ spent the first two years of Viet Nam in a boat on a river, with tangerine trees and marmalade skies........

Think about it: Isn't it better for all of us that W was fishing, instead of signing something?

The Pagan Preacher
I don't turn the other cheek.
