Bush's approval rating is in the toilet, so why can't Dems... |
|
get any political traction?? Why is it taking REPUBLICANS like Chuck Hagle to say that Iraq looks a lot like a Vietnam redux? Why are DEMS saying this stuff?? I also am completely baffled by the press. I figured that they would go after Bush EVENTUALLY. Are they so bought that they can't pursue the generous amounts of fodder his administration is throwing to them??
Every day its like being in the Twilight Zone. I keep expecting Rod Serling to step into my living room and say, "Signpost up ahead...". I am getting so SICK of all this crap being ignored. By my own frigging party, no less!! God, do you remember the way Republicans were like sharks in a feeding frenzy the second they smelt the blood in the water with Clinton?? They hammered away and didn't mind sounding like total psychos.
I hate to say it, but Dems are pus***s. If Cheney can tell somebody to fuck off, why can't some brave Democrat stand up and say, "Uhh...gee....it looks like things aren't going so well in Iraq and what's up with that whole Valerie Plame thing??"

2. How could it be that polls are meaningless...... well it's because |
|
the polls don't translate to votes because.... wait for it.... the election equipment is compromised.
Does any have a better explanation for our current state of affairs?

that the Dems can win elections by not doing anything anything but to say they aren't republicans.

Plain and simple, they don't want be called names by Flush and that bunch of pukes. How stupid is that? They don't want to look "unpatriotic." How stupid is THAT?

10. Many Democrats don't want to acknowledge the truth as to why... |
|
Edited on Wed Aug-24-05 06:03 AM by Q
...their 'leadership' won't speak up about Iraq and the destruction of our Constitution and Country.
The answer to your question is that the 'New Democrats' have taken control of our party and THEIR plan is to let Bush get away with anything and everything so they can look as 'tough' as him on national defense.
The DLC has become the voice of the party and is steering us right into a ditch. One of the biggest lies they're helping George to perpetuate is that fighting and dying in Iraq is a 'noble cause' and that to be against it is "anti-American". They don't have anything at ALL to say about election fraud or many of the other crimes the Bushies have committed.

11. You are so right! Wake up Dems - now's the time!! |
|
Maybe it's because of the August vacation recess, I don't know, but it seems like we're out in the ocean on a giant raft. It would be nice if a notable Democrat would step up to the plate on national television and support us. Even Howard Dean is MIA. John Kerry has his minions send emails. Joe Biden is genuflecting in front of the White House with Lieberman. Hillary's schmoozing with Newt. Maybe we should all put paper bags on our heads and call ourselves the Unknown Party.

|
Edited on Wed Aug-24-05 06:28 AM by VIHMH5L50P
They're the reason Bush is in there, because they're too stupid to deal with the chimp-man, and even if they weren't, they'd be too scared.
You can't let a bully know you're scared of him.
No Dem politicians can help us, only we the people can help us, and we're finally getting serious about it.

13. Because a LOAD of Dems also voted for the Iraq nightmare... |
|
For one reason only, they thought it would be a cake walk like the Gulf War and didn't want to be out of the loop when we marched in with flowers flying from Iraqi's and put the cuffs on SH.
Of course that was all a BULLSHIT dream. The reality is what we have today which MOST if not ALL on DU knew was the way this invasion was going to shake out.

15. But can't they insulate themselves from that to a degree... |
|
by saying, "He lied to us, too. At the time the war started the majority of you believed that war was the way to go because of what this White House told us and so did we." Holy shit, can you imagine the reaction if just ONE brave Dem leader stood up and said, "Mr. President, you are a LIAR."
Where is Ted Kennedy?? He is usually good for this sort of thing.

14. The most lucid thing I've heard .... |
|
I'm not sure where I heard it... probably one of the Sunday talk shows... but it was an old adage... "don't interrupt your opponent when they are commiting political suicide"
That seems like a pretty wise strategy... and if I was a democratic leader is might seem best to not distract from BushCo's unprecedented bellyflop. We may be better off waiting until Bush's self-inflicted failure is complete... before changing the topic to something else.
