Obviously, George W is quite unpatriotic.

1. Good point!

...however, if this is a response to the allegation that Cindy said "America isn't worth dying for" - well, that isn't what Cindy said.

Cindy said IRAQ wasn't worth dying for because they did not attack us first. The neocons took her comment out of context in order to smear her (of course).

_ _ _ _ _

THIS is what Cindy said:

"I'm going all over the country telling moms: "This country is not worth dying for. If we're attacked, we would all go out. We'd all take whatever we had. I'd take my rolling pin and I'd beat the attackers over the head with it. But we were not attacked by Iraq." {applause)

WHEN TAKEN *IN* CONTEXT, we can see that Cindy was referring to IRAQ, NOT the U.S.

2. Yes, she's gotta be careful about her pronouns.
But I still think my point is valid. :)

4. DEFINITELY valid point!
It certainly can (and should) go both ways! If Gee Duhbya thinks Iraq is worth dying for, let him send HIS kids to go dye for it then.

5. Actions speak louder than misinterpreted words, methinks.
I wonder when the draft will come.

6. Full Quote
You are not putting the quote in its full context. Her complete quote is this:

America has been killing people since like (inaudible) since we first set foot on this continent. We have been responsible for death and destruction. I passed on that bullshit to my son and my son enlisted. I'm going all over the country telling moms this country is not worth dying for. If we're attacked, we would all go out. We'd all take whatever we had. I'd take my rolling pin and I'd beat the attackers over the head with it. But we were not attacked by Iraq.

When you put everything together its becomes much more arguable that she was referring to America, not Iraq. She doesn't mention Iraq until the very end, and everything leading up to the key phrase ("this country is not worth dying for") refers to America. It is therefore very debatable as to what she was referring to. In the very least, she needs to learn how to deliver sound bites better, because at this point the only sound bites she is delivering are RW ones.

7. Cindy needs a PR consultant. Now.
If she is going to represent us, she needs to not leave herself so open to misinterpretation.

8. She has many
Unfortunately they are Michael Moore types that appeal to the left rather than the middle.

10. sorta tired of this argument
<soapbox>
Jenna isn't in Iraq because Jenna doesn't want to be there. I'm not in Iraq because I don't want to be there. Many people are there in spite of what their parents have to say about the matter.

Thank you very much,
</soapbox>
