Sep 24 Protest question: Can I pitch a Tent somewhere In DC
and be safe if we cannot afford a hotel room. Is it something that alot of people will do? I have never been to DC and will have no transportation once I get down there.

since I have never been there, is it a safe place to pitch a tent for the night?

3. If you're talking campground,
the closest is Cherry Hill Campground. They have bus service that runs back/forth hourly to the metro. They allow tents at $36 per site and they have highspeed wireless internet connections. The website is
http://www.cherryhillpark.com/

Last time we were there (2003), it was a nice clean park with decent bathhouses.

5. Greenbelt park allows camping
not sure about bus shuttles, but either metro or pg county transit runs by there. Any folks staying at cherry hill or greenbelt park, or in the greater greenbelt / college park area, I highly recommend town hall tavern on route 1. A truly wonderful and diverse dive bar.
