Updated List of Rove Witnesses and Interviewees
Edited on Thu Aug-25-05 09:07 PM by joemurphy
Here's a new update of the Rove case's witnesses and interviewees
The update was prompted by a report in the LA Times that Glenn Kessler, a Washington Post reporter, was among those who testified before Fitzgerald’s grand jury.

The source for the Kessler report is here. Kessler’s testimony apparently occurred some time ago and thus is not big news. Kessler reportedly testified after he was given a specific waiver by Scooter Libby, Kessler’s apparent source.

This list is something I've put together from my Googling. If anyone has any additions or corrections, let me know. I'll post the list from time to time in the future as further information comes in.

2. John Bolton should be added to one of these groups.
Bolton apologists had to admit he had been contacted by the Grand Jury as part of his paperwork as the UN nominee. Karen Hughes(WHIG) had to admit too.

3. Bolton was interviewed by the State Department's
Inspector General as part of a joint investigation with the CIA into Iraq's attempts to purchase yellow-cake uranium from Niger. He wasn't
interviewed by the FBI or by Fitz's grand jury in connection with the Plame leak matter. Hence, I've left him off.

Hope springs eternal, however.

4. John Hannah was the first one to get into big trouble
From Thinkprogress:

<snip>
HANNAH A “MAJOR PLAYER” IN FITZGERALD PROBE: According to the UPI, “The investigation, which is continuing, could lead to indictments, a Justice Department official said. According to these sources, John Hannah and Cheney’s chief of staff Lewis ‘Scooter’ Libby were the two Cheney employees. ‘We believe that Hannah was the major player in this,’ one federal law enforcement officer said. Calls to the vice president’s office were not returned. Hannah and Libby did not return calls.

FITZGERALD PRESSURED HANNAH TO NAME SUPERIORS: The strategy of the FBI is to make clear to Hannah ‘that he faces a real possibility of doing jail time,’ as a way to pressure him to name superiors, one federal law enforcement official said.’”
