We'd be shocked if we knew what MSM has been "sitting on" |
|
I think we would all be shocked if we knew what the MSM has been "sitting on" in regard to this president and the Iraq war, and Valerie Plame Outing. They know, everyone knows they know, but they remain silent. A form of public betrayal by omission.
The failure to publish what they know has already had terrible consequences. Had they done so, we might have a different resident in the WH today.

1. The problem now is they are so guilty they can't do anything |
|
about it. The press will never be held in the same light by the people again after this, ever. They're way of doing business will never be the same and I truly wish that wasn't true. If they hadn't betrayed our trust we wouldn't have to worry where and what little britches is up to next and how many good men and women we lose today. THE PRESS LET US DOWN.

6. Slaves for access and propriety |
|
Many unspoken topics are off limits, and if you don't want to be Rathered or Thomased, you don't broach them. The ruthlessness of this administration is well known and worse than any other in the history of the Republic.
Once one has sucked up to the major assumptions, it's impossible to backtrack and point out even major evils; one is compromised, and one's access will be cut off.
There's a narcissism in journalism, and it's the chief impediment to the craft. Now, so many are so culpable with the lies that they can't dissent.
Add to that the corporate control of the media, and it's vapor lock.

8. Then they need to make up for it. |

"Special report tonight...these are reports we've held for two years at the behest of the Administration, and because of Homeland Security restrictions. But in light of current events and in the interest of the principles of journalism, *B* Broadcasting would like to present the report that we were pressured not to air. We fully intend to never compromise our and your right to information ... and we humbly apologize for the delay ...."

4. Time holding back knowledge Rove was Cooper Source is proof |

that what they knew and did not report most likely assisted W in wresting a second term from the rightful winner.
they knew and did not ask for a waiver from Rove to allow Cooper to testify before the election -- Sin of Omission in my book.

7. Yes, you definitely would be shocked.... for instance |
|
As I have posted here before, my partner used to work for MSNBC and had a conversation once with Andrea Mitchell if Feb 2002. She said then that the Bushies would roll out the Iraq war in August. It was rolled out in earnest in Sept. She had other tidbits to share as well, but the bottom line is they can hardly "break the news" that Bush was planning the Iraq war along when they knew it at the time but didn't see fit to tell the public about it. They are all in bed together.
