GOP to Dems: We messed up big...give us a plan to fix things. |
|
Media to Democrats...we went along with the GOP when they messed up. Where is your plan to help us help them fix the mess?
Why aren't you Democrats speaking out with a plan?
We are not very good at planning, so we are waiting for you guys to help us figure a way out of this mess. Heck, we know you don't have any access to any info, but you could just make up a plan anyway. You don't need all that silly intelligence, just make up a plan.

And it gives the media something to whine about. You know the lazy Dems won't make a plan to save our leader. No good lazy Dems. Haven't heard anyone calling on the Repubs to come up with a plan.

The hate and division created by Bush will take a long time to heal.
I understand how frustrating it is to talk sense into people who are hypnotized by the chant USA, USA, USA.
The country is being destroyed in so many ways, pretty sad.
Rational discussion with those who support Bush is virtually impossible, but one cannot idly sit by, more yelling ensues.

I did not think so. All they have to do is beg us for one. I swear I hope our Dems sit on their thumbs and let them sweat. No one is going to listen to any of our plans now anyway...even if we made one.
I say where is the Republican plan?

14. GOP to Dems: We messed up big...give us a plan so we can attack it |
|
by going along with the republicans, the Democrats have removed themselves as an effective target ... the Democratic message is, you're in control so you have to be accountable ...
republicans are forced to live or die based on the results of their policies ... what republicans would like to do, given the overwhelming failures of almost everything they've done, is avoid accountability by COMPARING themselves to their own speculation about what a Democratic plan would have achieved ... instead, they are measured against their own fundamental success or failure ...
the ultimate message they'd like to be able to deliver is: we messed up big but your plan would have made it even worse ... absent a detailed plan from the Democrats, their message is: we messed up but it's a dangerous world and these things are hard ... right now, they have no one to blame but themselves ...
fwiw, i don't agree with the strategy the Democrats have chosen; i think it "fails to lead" ... and i think in the long-run, it will not be politically effective ... we need to fight for our ideas and values; not play politics with them ...

16. Kerry detailed a plan in a NYT op-ed in June when Bush gave his Iraq speec |
|
and one of the Clark supporters posted a Clark plan here. So there are at least two Democtratic plans (that shared much in goals and philosophy. Feingold has suggested a target withdrawal date with a list of political actions that need to happen or the date changes - which is not far from Kerry and Clark (who at this point don't want a withdrawal date),

This is the end of America as a prosperous country (forget preeminently prosperous; it's not been that since the 1950's or so).
Our chances of recovering from this are about as good as Brazil's chances of becoming the next hyperpower.

20. I think if we are to be the loyal opposition.... |
|
Edited on Fri Aug-26-05 01:38 AM by FrenchieCat
Our Democratic leaders' jobs are not to STFU and watch the GOP in power kill civilians and soldiers while they sit quietly and idly by, because the media might harass them!
Fuck the whining from the media, cause in a way listening to them for directions is as silly as thinking that Bush is gonna do the right thing anyway. So, just like I'm not gonna take my cues from the media as to whether we should or should not offer up a plan; I think that the American people need to know that there is an alternate way of looking at this shit. In fact there are probably more than even one or two.
I would more respect someone who had a clue and a plan, then to act like this ain't our country....and the mess that has been made isn't our responsibility to analyze, commentate on, make suggestions and yes, articulate a plan. If we don't start articulating plans soon, why should anyone vote for a Democratic congress....if they sit and watch and point and have nothing to seriously suggest as a solution.
For me, the analogy goes like this....
The blind guy is about to cross the street. The guy on the right of him says, you can cross now! The guy on the left of him says, no please don't cross now! The blind guy listens to the guy on the right and crosses the street. Just then, a big bus that both the left and the right had seen wizzes by and hits the blind guy. The blind guy is in the middle of the street bleeding and dying quickly. Does the guy that was on the left of him go to the blind guy and try to elevate his head, check his wounds and see what he can do to save his life? Or should he just go up to the blind guy and say?...."see, you should have listened to me". Which is the right thing to do? That's the real question.

21. They will attack any plan we put forth. Rip it to shreds. |
|
And they will keep saying we don't have a plan. It is a measured game, and all of the Democratic forums are falling for it. By asking for our plan, they are taking themselves off the hook. They are getting more desperate daily, so they keep begging for plans more often. So they can disparage them.
If you think they will accept Kerry's plan or Clark's plan, think again.
We are not going to leave Iraq as long as Bush is president. He has said so several times this week.
We only have about 52,000 thousand more deaths before we catch up with Vietnam.

It ain't about being comfortably liked and approved of.
Like I said....either we are the loyal opposition or we are not!
The right thing to do is not to worry so much about what "they" :scared: will do or how "they" :scared: will react ......but focus on what we need to do....and it ain't staying silent and being intimidated into silence and try to rationalize it by making into our strategy.
It doesn't matter so much whether Bush listens or not (I'm sure he won't)....at least there's voices that he would hear if he chose to. In that way.....it's more of his problem for not listening than ours for not saying anything.
