A view on what's wrong - irreversibly jaded??? |
|
Think about it - since the chimp took office, we've had scandal after scandal. We've seen shock and awe - we've had to ensure beheadings on the internet. Maybe what's gone wrong is that the majority of the public has just completely lost it - few of us retain the ability to critically think these days. And the media has gone asleep at the wheel (or are being well paid to report only the news that supports the misadmin.). If this is the case, I think that all we can do is to wait for things to get so, so bad that even the lemmings have to pay attention. A sad thought, but it is just inescapably bizarre that nothing that has happened over the past neary 6 years stick to this man - a better brand of Teflon than what Reagan wore, I'm afraid.

.... the manufactured scandal after scandal during the 90s.
I think people are just tired of the whole thing. They know politicians lie and smear, they know that the media lies and spins, they are tired of the futility of he-said she-said information and they've just given up on the whole thing.
The wild cards in this scenario are things like the economy and gas prices. It's hard to spin not having a job or being underemployed. It's hard to spin $3 per gallon.
They're trying, but the polls show it isn't working. When you start hitting folks in the checkbook, they start noticing. We'll see.
