I have another question to ask all of you
Edited on Sat Aug-27-05 11:25 AM by lynettebro440
Has the world finally come to a real place where our military troops could be in danger of the world attacking us and nuclear bombs being set off in numbers? I sit here and read all day articles from around the world, from all of you, and today I got a real troubling fear within myself that of all my 46 years spent on this earth could really easily go up in a mushroom cloud like no other time in my life.

It's funny really, when looking back on my schooling throughout most of my elementary life, we spent a large majority of our time practicing (in a ridiculous manner I might add, as if hiding under our little desks was going to stop a nuclear bomb from taking us all out in Omaha NE, 20 miles from Offut Air Force Base.) We had drills at least once a week, sounding the alarm that we were being attacked by the enemy. We lived each day in fear of it being our last and it was probably a smart way to live considering the information that is finally becoming available to the outside world after 30 years from the days of JFK and now knowing that possibility was very real.

But we don't do that anymore with our children. We have raised our children in their little worlds telling them that they are safe and we live to take away those fears, making life cushy and comfortable, and some might say even spoiled our children into believing that those times were past, that there was nothing to worry about, that all the bombs had been dismantled and that we are all going to live in peace as one, feeding the hungry and spoiling the children that our ours. What do we tell them now?

I read a post on here earlier that stated people act as if Cindy is Santa Claus and sit in anticipation to hear what she has to say. We have all horribly forgotten what our world was like in the early 60's. Most of the people that lived in the fairy tale world back then, where mommy and daddy took away the possibility of any harm to them, are now running our country. And the rest of us are those people that remember what it was like to be afraid of a nuclear strike against us and we are hiding under our desks, peeking our heads out wondering if the coast is clear. I had one of my earlier post taken and chopped apart by a freeper site a few weeks ago. In that post I spoke as Cindy being a light, something higher then religion and faith, she was a light that was shining and that people were looking at. You could say that this could be a "Santa Claus" light or any other analogy, but what I am coming to believe is that people have got to remember, I know I lived among thousands of them in the 60's and we all knew the drill. Are those people out here and are they realizing that they may have to teach their own children soon that this isn't a joke, this isn't a test anymore. This is an administration that has invaded another country, has flipped the bird to China and North Korea, has told Iran that we will drop the bomb. When are we going to start waking up the children again and telling them, hey kids, there is a good possibility that you could be gone tomorrow by a very big bomb that the US hasn't destroyed and now many other places have that same bomb? Hey kids, it isn't about "Goats" anymore, I think we need to bring back the real truth, that there is a very good possibility now that this could all be over. Wake up kids, time to hide under your desks again. Thanks for listening.
