The Pottery Barn Return Policy
Edited on Mon Aug-29-05 07:54 PM by mikelewis
I've been hearing so much about the Pottery Barn "you broke it, you bought it policy", I decided to investigate the reason we have to stay in a war we do not want. As it turns out, according to the Pottery Barn policy, returning this war may be a bit tricky. Their return policy states:
"If you are not satisfied for any reason, we will gladly provide a merchandise refund for your furniture order within 30 days of receipt. After 30 days, Pottery Barn will replace or refund your merchandise against manufacturer defects for up to one year. For all other items, we will replace or refund your purchase for up to one year if you are not completely satisfied."

Apparently, a year ago, we could have canceled this war or replaced it with a war of equal or lesser value. {I was really hoping to get that Darfur Humanitarian Response Invasion as an alternative}. Unfortunately, to get our refund or replacement, we had to apply for it before the year was over. Since Bush declared victory on May 1, 2003, we had until 5/1/04 to claim a grievance. We failed to do this and now we must "stay the course" because of a lying salesman. Ain't that a bitch.

1. Furthermore, If you were to accidentally break something in the Pottery

Barn, the only concern would be that you didn't get hurt. The only place I have seen such a sign/warning/threat was years ago in little crappy gift stores.

The Iraq war wasn't an accident, we didn't "break it" by accident. It is some kind of crazy mislead mess, it will take years to figure out exactly what the motivation was.

2. A few minor typos in the above
lead me to believe that this is original creation, rather than a copy/paste job from another source. But original or not. I LOVE it, and will be 'plagiarizing' it as appropriate. Thanks.

6. Thanks for the (guarded) admission.
I don't generally waste this group's time with other people's minor typos, but I thought that was a gentle way to start my earlier posting.

4. the Humpty-Dumpty rule
all the kings horses and all the kings men
couldn't put Humpty back together again ...

that's why remaining in Iraq just doesn't make any sense no matter how well-intentioned some are ...

we can't get there from here ...

5. We may not be able to get a refund.
But we didn't come for the pottery. That was just a diversion. We came for the cash register. Unfortunately, there's a crowd outside that's looking in the front window. And I seriously doubt that we can walk out without being apprehended.
