Why the War on Terror is conceptually bankrupt |
|
We have spent hundreds of billions and shed the blood of thousands of Americans to fight an idea that has made us international pariahs and radicalized 1/3 of the world's population to hate us.....without accomplishing anything tangible except for making merchants of war much richer.
But here, at home, we are seeing the effects of this folly in our inability to deal with true terror....a national disaster on the magnitude of Katrina. We have no Treasury to mitigate the costs of this disaster and we have no National Guard available to control the afteraffects. The cost of oil, which has tripled under the policies of this administration, may now reach new highs as we face the impact of this hurricane on our energy infrastructure in the Gulf. This administration has put us on the precipice and the ground is starting to give way.
Isn't it time we reassess what the real priorities of this country are?

This country is in a world of hurt and most people haven't figured that out yet. This disaster will show dubya with a few tears and the people will rally around him.......nevermind the NG is in Iraq getting killed instead of home where they can be of help.

They'll keep him well away from any uncontrolled contact with unscreened, real people. He'll ride around in a helicopter, made a surprise appearance at a shelter, surrounded by SS men and FEMA creeps, and make a quick getaway in AF1.
Back to vacation land -- anywhere but DC or Crawford/Camp Casey.
His own moral bankruptcy will catch up with him when he wakes up in the middle of the night and realizes who he is, and how badly he blew it. He's led a wasted, irrelevant life. It's all been a lie.

5. Think Bush will raise taxes to deal with this national emergency? |
|
Or will we just sacrifice this part of the country, so as not to bother the Americn people? I pity the next real President that must confront the results of the national frat party Bush has hosted for 8 years.

6. I think first we have to expel the Fraternity Brothers. |
|
Then we can figure out who pays for Reconstruction II.

3. Don't forget Halliburton! |
|
Think how much Hall and others like them will make rebuilding the collapsed infrastructures of country after country (including US) sfter they have gotten done destroying them? And they don't even really have to do the work, they can just pretend to be working for years and years without oversight!
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!!
