Poll question: Which ignored August warning is Bush's grosser deriliction of duty? |
|
Which ignored warning do you think is the worse deriliction of duty on the part of this President. No third choice. Decide between the two. Try to think big picture. August 9, 2001 PDB - Bin Laden Determined to Strike in USAugust 28, 2005 AP wire article - Experts expect Katrina to turn New Orleans into Atlantis

1. August 28th was too late. |
|
Stripping funding from levee projects, sending the National Guard to Iraq, not signing Kyoto and and starting major efforts to reverse or contain global warming when he first got into office.......pretending that our only threat was terrorism....making no effort of any kind to restrain oil use or seek alternate energy sources...
Bush's dereliction of duty began on Day 1 of his administration.
Mother Nature makes Bin Ladin look like the amateur playboy he is.

6. It was not too late.... a full mobilization of federal resources could |
|
have gotten EVERYONE out. Yes, forced evacuations. Marines, New Mexico National Gaurd going door to door arresting people if necessary. loading them up on school buses, freight trains, Chinooks, C-130's. It could have been done within 12 hours of being ordered.

2. "Experts expect Katrina to turn New Orleans into Atlantis" |
|
So they KNEW it was going to be very devastating, yet the Chimp decided to remain on vacation and go to a fundraiser instead of getting back to DC and coordinating a plan (or at least getting other people to coordinate a plan - we know Junior couldn't do it).
Un-fucking-believable! :grr:
This is far worse than ignoring Bin Laden because they KNEW when and where Katrina would hit. There's no excuse for not being prepared.
Let's see the bastards try to blame Chimp's latest failure on Clinton!

But there's no "plausible deniability" with Katrina.

there's a huge distinction betwee "plausible deniability" and "justification" ... in establishing a "grosser dereliction", the truth is what should be used as a criteria; not the hype that gets used to evade it ...
it would seem we are stuck with an administration that is guilty on both counts ...

8. Junior's big fuckup as far as New Orleans is concerned.... |
|
...was sending the LA National Guard somewhere where they had no business being in the first place, along with all the other states' National Guards.
But as far as the 2001 PDB, that was ignored on purpose, so it still takes the prize.

9. I think the grossest dereliction re terrorism came |
|
from a false assumption that the Clinton administration couldn't possibly have gotten it right, so therefore the new administration would not take advantage of the hard work and expertise accummulated by Clinton et al.
Even when it was handed to them virtually on a silver platter, no they had to do it their way.
I guess that is one of the dangers when you believe God speaks directly to you.
I voted for the Aug 6 PDB.
