Just speculation on my part. But, think about it. Anymore, he doesn't make any kind of appearance unless they line up enough base supporters to fill whatever forum they put him in.

Out in the open where the hurricane hit, there's no controlling who shows up. Bush would likely have a hissy fit having to deal with so many irate people.

Gotta keep the boy in his bubble and make him feel like all's well in his world.

14. Yeah, thinking is something they can't do (nor ** can).
To make believe is the only stuff they are experts on.

Even at that, they are increasingly failing to achieve...

13. That's why he blew off the Little League champs
in Hawaii.

He couldn't be guaranteed that they'd all drink the Koolaid before he got there.

Fucking pussy.

use a bull horn on.

These people are going to be very pissed at Bush and they're not going to hold back when he arrives for his photo op.

8. I agree, but with slightly different reasons...
I believe that there are some very angry people in New Orleans right now and the Secret Service may have valid concerns about keeping the pResident physically safe from citizens in a city which is underwater, on fire, etc, all at once. New Orleans is a very violent town. Of course a real man would visit anyway.

11. Doesn't He Work for Us?
How can we fire him? We know his performance evaulations are very low. He takes way too much time away from the job. My company wouldn't tolerate an employee like that. Why are we Americans tolerating it? Maybe we should all send him a pink slip.

18. Too bad there ain't no "recall" procedure at that level, and
Edited on Tue Aug-30-05 06:10 PM by Amonester
impeachment procedures seem to depend on too many unjust conditions (when a majority of taxpayers disagree on the policies of the executive branch -- or are just disgusted by all the wrongdoings, the corruption & the war crimes). Sure "looks" like a flaw that'd need to get fixed.

Your suggestion of sending him (and "them") pink slips sounds great, though. I suggest you make a post at the Activist Headquarters for the all the good graphics designers here to produce a genuine model for it... One for each idiot neo-conster should be made!! (Don't know yet if there's any web site already proposing to send pink slips to 'em).

Welcome To DU!! :hi:

Edit note: Just found this site!

"Pink Slip Bush" (the date should be made to modify itself "daily" though):

Those of Cheneyourself, Rumsfailed, CondiLIESa, Boltron, etc. are missing also.

Thanks for the welcome. A graphic designer could do a pink slip with a "You're Fired!" and we could each sign our name as a constituent.

15. Very Powerful Use of Pictures in This Thread
I actually agree with this too, as incredible as it seems. Bush would be instantly shown as a worthless little rich-boy fuck-up who could not even answer a series of questions coherently, with any understanding of how anything works, would not comfort anyone or even be able to work up the appearance of "compassion," and would not be able to hide the "bulge" in the back because cameras would be showing things from all angles. Since "throwing a tantrum" would not be appropriate in this setting, Bush would be lost, and as mentioned, there would be people who had not been cleared by Republican headquarters, and they could not just be yelled at, as usual. A real world disaster of this magnitude would show, all too clearly, what a propped-up nothing Bush is.

Bullshot hits the nail on the head.

They can't control the scene. Bush would be embarassed beyond repair by being seen in the midst of a real disaster.

21. This is possible, but frankly, since this is the red-state belt, they'd
probably fall all over him as though they were witnessing the Second Coming. His lordship! Actually coming here to share our pain!!!!!!! And, as far as I know, little publicity is being given to the cutbacks he made in funding to the Army Corps of Engineers - to shore up the levees so they'd better withstand a possible Category Five hurricane... (which, of course, means WE civilians have to spread the word). Besides, since there's no electricity and no anything else, I doubt anybody'd in Hurricane territory would be able to, or want to, tune in to catch the latest news.

Bush has slashed Clinton's Disaster Mitigation Program. (unbelievable)
