Barnes & Krauthamer. Stunningly fucked up people.
While the rest of the country is talking about the human tragedy in Louisiana and Mississippi, I just saw a few minutes of Fred Barnes and Charles Krauthamer discussing the cost in dollars. Specifically, whether the rest of the country should "subsidize" natural disasters for people living in "paradise."

These two hemorrhoidal growths on the asshole of the media that we know as Fox News don't have a problem spending $300 billion on an unnecessary, voluntary war, to say nothing of that human tragedy, but they object to having a natural emergency response. Clearly, our 1900 dead there mean nothing to them, nor do they care about what will probably be hundreds dead in the south.

In the meantime, extremely wealthy people have, for years, voluntarily built multi-million dollar vacation homes in coastal areas prone to flooding. They get flooded out every few years, and national flood insurance literally bails them out. I don't actually know any of these rich people myself, but Charles and Fred probably do.

These two fecal-laden fiends don't whine about federal subsidies (read wealth-shifting) to the oil, airline, and pharmaceutical industries. They don't complain about our national forests being given away to corporations, or tax breaks to companies who thimble-rig their books to appear to be off-shore.

These two masturbation-addled, Murdoch ass-sniffers, who also include their pets when counting up their sexual partners, don't have a problem with a cadre of traitors in the White House, or a president who actually cut funding for flood prevention in New Orleans, but they want to complain about assisting people, mainly working class, who have been hit with an unprecedented disaster.

Did I mention that I don't think very highly of them?

7. Is it too late for you to edit the transcript into the original post?
I nominated, but it would be more effective with the transcript in the post.

3. They get paid to say shit like that, it's their act.
All that fox shit is pretend. The tragic part is that real people are affected badly by it, or at least by the policies they pretend to promote.

11. I don't know
if they are actually pretending. Barnes really sincerely seems like an ass hole. He also called Cindy Sheehan a "crack pot". Of course, just a few months ago he said that Terry Schiavo's parents just wanted their daughter to live.

but Fred Barnes is the editor of the Weekly Standard, when he's not engaging in class warfare on Fox. Krauthammer has conservative credentials that go back to the 70's, and currently writes for the Weekly Standard.

4. There are lots of give aways
but include this one as beneath contempt with the rest. A subsidy is a subsidy.

Poor people rarely live in beach front houses.

That often very rich people who can afford beach front property are paid to rebuild in the same place so the next storm can wash them out so the US government can pay for them to rebuild is a waste of taxpayers money.

Add the cost of the Corp of Engineers performing "stabilization" at huge cost to rebuild beaches so the properties maintain their market value.

NATURE BATS LAST

There are place we should not live.

Doesn't look like they're living in paradise to me.

I don't know about y'all, but there aren't hurricanes blowing through MY idea of paradise!

What about the poor folk in the SuperDome? Are they living in the paradise part of N.O.? Is that why they couldn't afford to get out of there?

Spinning a disaster. How fucking lovely.

with their reaction to:
Cindy Sheehan and thinks like this disaster.

regardless of how they try to draft their arguments in th flag or logic, we know they're now lying. They only think of themselves and revel in the misery of others.

I hate them.

18. Why is risk bad?
"You're right about these places where people willingly accept risk."
It's odd--when people accept the risk of hurricanes when they choose a place to live, it's morally objectionable. Yet when people take risks with money--theirs or other people--it somehow justifies profit.

I suppose what I'm getting at is that the capitalist system these fellows endorse celebrates risk. The "manly christian culture" of Daniel Boone and our forebearers that these fellows presumably admire celebrates it.

Here's what our country would be like if these jerks were the ones who made up the original settlers:

Scene: The Netherlands, 1620
enter: Barnes & Krauthammer, in Pilgrim garb.
Barnes: Goodman Krauthammer, I say we get outselfes unto Engelande againe, and hireth unto ourselfes a shippe, so that wee may getteth ourselves and our families unto a new land, if God's providence alloweth. What sayst thou?
Krauthammer: Nay! It's too risky. Goeth thou-I shalle stayeth behinde. And aske me not to share thy financial burden, for thou accepteth the risk on thye owne selfe, Goodman Barnes.

(exeunt)

19. You Won't Here Them Mention Jeb's Florida, though!
Nothing personal to fellow Floridians; many still without help down there, as well! No, the rich keep getting richer, and richer while the rest of us are sinking faster by the minute (no longer by the day)!

This country is a pure, unadulterated mess! So is Iraq, at that. All in a matter of what... months, a few years. Sickening. How do people support this type of mentality?

Where did more then 9 billion dollars go in those tons of bags to Iraq?

22. That conversation is beneath contempt, like the recent statements
after the bombings in London. That dumb POS John Gibson wishing terrorists had hit Paris instead of London, and Brit Hume getting all excited about how market shares probably went down - hence, a good time to buy - on the day of the attacks.

"Did I mention that I don't think very highly of them?"

Not literally you didn't, but I carefully read between the lines the subtle nuance within your colorful description of them and picked up on that without any trouble.

Do I need to tell you that I agree with your sentiments?

I'll bet Barnes spent his early years at the American Spectator in a one man circle jerk (hoping around in a circular motion) over a picture of George Will.
