Bush's reaction to disaster, a year later |
|
Can anyone remember exactly how long it took for Bush to show up in Florida after their hurricanes?
The sickest thought to me is that he's not moving very fast this year because he's not running for anything.
But I can't remember how fast he was to respond last year. Is my impression fair or unfair?

7. So he's rewarding the Red States with military jobs |
|
and by showing up when they have disasters, and punishing the Blue states for not voting for him by not giving a damn and by moving their military bases.
Ain't that just sweet. If he's not going to be our president too, then he might as well have let us have John Kerry for the Dem states, and he could have kept the Red ones.
But, of course, that would mean we'd have all the water. Oh well...

We just rolled our eyes, like this :eyes: when he came to "assess the damage".
We had far more pressing issues than watching him stand around and look at debris...

take advantage of this tragedy for political gain. Just like they did with 9-11.

6. "2006" should be the watchword for hurricane victims and Democrats |
|
Perhaps we can instill some BushCo humanitarian movement by prodding them in the self-interest.

8. The REAL test of Bush's esteem for the Gulf states |
|
will come when we see how fast disaster relief and Federal aid come to the red, red, red states of Mississippi and Alabama. They're so red, it might be reasoned by this cynical Administration, that they'd still vote Republican even if they got none at all....
We'll all just reserve judgement until the aid for this category four storm's aftermath outpaces that of the category one and two storms that hit Florida last year.
