What will be the political fallout from the New Orleans disaster? |
|
Will it will be "the straw that broke the camel's back" for the BFEE? Will it be "the beginning of the end" for the BFEE? What? What will the next few months and the year look like?

1. The point that's really going to hit home soon is that we are all victims |
|
of this disaster. Gas prices are going to "catapult" ( a favorite word in the Shrub's lexicon) across the country and the impact will be felt in all consumers' goods. I feel we are on the verge of some serious economic hard times- the only thing holding the economy together now is the housing market and that's pretty vulnerable especially when interest rates are pushed up. I guess the question will be will be if Bush can avoid the blame for the economy. As far as I can remember, bad economic times are always blamed on the incumbent party and/or president.

2. First, I think we're still in shock over what's happening in New Orleans. |
|
I thought they had dodged a bullet, but not any more. My second fear is that Red America will see all the large black population and their compassion will not be what it should be under similar situations. And finally, answering your question: The political fallout is that Bush will not be able to censor the photos from the carnage in LA as he has censored the photos in Iraq. So as this tragedy continues, people will want to know why we're in Iraq helping strangers, and not taking care of our own.
The fallout for Bush will be great because New Orleans is representative of what is wrong with Republican policies. They play everything too close to the edge, and because of it, there are too many fires to put out.

3. There is going to be more. A news anchor did the unthinkable |
|
today and asked is "Bush still on vacation- it might be a good idea if he got back to work". Cafferty considered an anchor or commentator? It could be the end along with high gas prices (they were there when Nixon went down) Greenspan is getting out while the getting is good. Economy was on its way down - anyway with out Katrina. I don't see Iraq war getting "better." But will people have the courage to go after Bush. That is the big question, can they withstand the smears like Cindy, mutliply Cindy by 1000 and atleast ten courageous Senators and Bush could be in alot of trouble.

Cafferty is a conservative, straight shooter, meaning, he is blunt about any non-conservative ... That was pretty significant for him to just call it for what it was, though again, it was very abrupt ...
CNN just keeps putting it's toe in the water more and more ... Seeing if it can take a quick shot at the admin and not be cut off ... They might find their soul, and more importantly to them, get back into the game, if they start slanting away from these pukes ...
Will people have the courage to go after him, finally ... I think, as many have noted, that when you leverage this situation against Iraq, then add in gas, going into the winter, and whatever other reverberations that might occur ...
It is going to start to be TOO much for the public not to start to get ramped up a good bit against this idiot ...

4. The most likely question from the Corp. Media |

Why didn't Clinton plan better? Jiminy, W's job is to free up monies to attack countries rather than make plans safe guarding his Red State voters (Louisiana, Florida, Mississippi).

Hard to predict, given the BFEE's instincts for self-preservation. But the press, the public, and the polls will all become more critical of Bush and the BFEE over the next month and beyond, and there will be indictments from Fitzgerald sometime soon, continued killing in Iraq, rising interest rates, rising gas prices, a cold winter, and on and on and on.
It's going to be a long, long fall and winter. Very, very bleak.

6. The End for these Idiots? |
|
How many times have we hoped that the next crisis would be the end of this nightmare? More times than I can remember. But this time it's different, these are not small children dying of starvation in Africa or Iraqi citizens dying in the streets..these are Americans..maybe finally the horrors of what we have allowed to go on in the world or that we have caused to go on will reach the sheeple. The awful thing is that it takes a tragedy of this magnitude before we can even hope that America wakes up to the vile "leaders" we have at home.
The reality of what is happening on the Gulf Coast is almost more than one can bear but I only hope that finally the Media and the citizens of this country will no longer be able ignore the horrendous lack of leadership from this Administration.
May this finally be the beginning of the end of Bush, Cheney and the rest of the hooligans.

Bush shows up Friday, delivers some folksy lines about resolve and the American spirit, the press does their job obligingly and the sheep are back on the train.

Bush will fly down to New Orleans a week later, stand on some rubble and talk a bunch of garbage. Fly back to DC and do nothing. +8% in the polls.

With major media reporting stranded people as if they DECIDED to stay, reporting looting of flooded, destroyed stores as despicable, and no attention to the President's whereabouts...
No effect.
He's teflon.
