Senate Democrats Have Huge Cash On Hand Advantage
Senate Democrats Have Huge Cash On Hand Advantage
August 30th, 2005
From the DSCC:

DEMOCRATS ARE OUTRAISING REPUBLICANS, HAVE A HUGE CASH-ON-HAND ADVANTAGE:

Senate Democrats have almost twice as much cash on hand as the Senate GOP does. Last month, the DSCC continued to outraise the NRSC, bringing its total cash on hand to $16.2 million compared to the $8.7 million in its GOP counterpart’s coffers.

1. Great news!
But I wonder why, and where the money is coming from. I'd be interested in more details, and also in knowing why the repukes fundraising is down.

3. I think the reasoning
Is two fold for this. One Schumer is just a helluva lot better at this than Lizzy Dole. One only needs to look at 04 to see this as Schumer scared off any Republican by raising so much money so fast. Two, I think except for a few exceptions its much easier to raise money trying to defeat incumbents than it is trying to defend them. I just cannot see Republican donors sending out big money to defend guys like Jim Talent, Lincoln Chaffee, or Mike DeWine

8. I hate to rain on everyone's parade but I will anyway.
Have you noticed that the RNC is still playing straight to the fundie base even if a few rogue RNC candidates aren't?

It's no accident, my dears.

The RNC loves the fundies for two reasons only (they also laugh at them behind their backs)--they raise trucks full of money with a simple request from Falertson, and they get people to the polls.

We have the money now, but watch as Felertson, et al, start slowly emeerging from their hidey-holes.

America may have despised Robertson's comments on Hugo Chavez, but the Falertson base ate it up like ice cream.

There are no accidents related to the Heritage Foundation.
