Gas Pump Agitation
For months I have been in the habit of rather loudly proclaiming "thank you president bush" in my worst sarcastic voice as I fill up my car. Generally my audience is a bit taken aback - is he grateful? Angry? But today the guy across the pump from me had an immediate explosion of anti-bush anger! He had a major tantrum, ranted and raved, and announced that he was going to write a REALLY ANGRY LETTER to that ASSHOLE IN THE WHITE HOUSE!

Wow. I think Chris Rock had it dead to rights on Bill Maher two weeks ago: there is seething outrage out there. The people are angry and we need to tap into that anger at every opportunity. From Cindy Sheehan to you and me we need to stand up and speak out at every occasion, at every opportunity. The time for agitation is now.

Oh and fuck our leaders who cannot lead. They are worthless cowards. It is all up to us, to you and me.

2. We need government action
We can go drive less, buy a hybrid if you are in the market for a car but there are so many people stuck in the Hummer or the Suburban that can't afford a new car right now or worse yet, still want to buy one. These people along with China and India are nullifying our efforts - not to downplay our efforts because they are important.

We need gas rationing, oil company profit investigation, price controls, a BIG boost in CAFE or something. If our Congressmen and President won't take real steps to control energy costs they ARE NOT doing their jobs.
