4. We'll see - he doesn't seem to be handling this at all well |
|
He might get an earful if he shows up on Friday and the Feds are still not out in force there.

6. Last week I predicted he'd be at 25% by this week |
|
I think he was probably there without his unbelievably poor hurricane response. Take a poll ARG, give us some data.

7. Don't kid yourself. All shithead has to do is show up in New Orleans..... |
|
...with or without a megaphone, and the whore media will spin it as "heroism" and "leadership" all fucking weekend. The dumbass Freeps will cheer (except for the ones on the Gulf Coast who WOULD cheer, if they could turn on their computers) and the whore polls will have the Chimp up to 60% by Tuesday.
There's no way that would happen in reality, but then we haven't been in reality since 12/12/2000, so don't be surprised when it does.

9. I agree - back up to 50+% after this weekend |
|
Take a look at the news. Nothing but hurricane. It's just like any national disaster - people WANT to support the president, just on general principle. Doesn't matter what he did other than cutting the vacation short, which plays well. And pledging to do "everything we can", as they always do. That'll be enough to pump him back up to 50+.

14. It would take a major increase to get him above 50 percent |
|
This isn't 9/11. People who don't like him after almost five years are not going to suddenly embrace him. I think he'll get a small bump at best that will be quickly gone. The sources of his unpopularity aren't going away.
I don't think he'll get points for cutting the vacation short. To do that is a no-brainer.

8. I'm guessing the MSM will portray W as a gallant warrior in his handling |

of the hurricane catastrophe, citing his quick decisive actions, his leadership, his humanity, his grasp of the situation.

12. This time I think he's going further down in the ratings if thats possible |
|
Nothing is going right and there is nothing this imbecile can do to make us feel different. I think he's worn out any welcome he had left, even with his former loyal supporters.

|

I'd consider it a small miracle if corporate owned polling companies and media show the real statistics of what the American people think this time. Of course it helps that the media is not really reporting the WHOLE story about how Bush plays guitar while NO (Biloxi, etc) drown or how Bush cut funding so the repairs needed for the levy's weren't done or.... etc etc etc.

16. Oh his approval ratings are going DOWN |
|
Edited on Wed Aug-31-05 12:29 PM by Orion The Hunter
Given the cuts to the FEMA budget and the lack of National Guard forces to adequately handle this emergency, and the already lackluster responses by our fearful leader, there is no way his approval ratings are going to rise. You already have several people speaking publicly, like the former Mayor of New Orleans, about the poor response of the federal government and how the resources to prevent and/or mitigate this catastrophe have been removed or reduced.

18. I think they are stuck in 40-45% range |
|
he's been dragging his feet the past four days but he still will get a bump for effort. Long term though, the economy took a major hit and a recession will be blamed on the hurricane. Which is stupid since 4 hurricanes hit last year and they didn't tip us into recession. The difference was that it was an election year and they hopped right on them especially since they all hit Florida.

... I would say his polls stand a good chance of going up.
Global warming, National Guard, anti-conservation stance...?
Bush is just sitting there waiting to be smacked.
