So, in an election year it's crucial to respond quickly to a disaster
But in a non-election year * can go ahead and eat cake and play guitar while hundreds die??
This is disgusting! Read the article below and contrasts *'s response!
From an article on Aug. 15, 2004:
In election year, hurricanes, too, are political
Bush mindful of '92 criticism of father over delayed aid for Florida
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/5716031
snip> Mindful of 1992
Asked on Sunday why he showed up so promptly in Florida to inspect the hurricane’s damage, Bush seemed to hint at the criticism of his father 12 years ago: "Yeah, if I didn't come, they would've said we should have been here more rapidly."

He added, “FEMA was on the ground yesterday morning and there’s a lot of supplies surging this way.”

While the focus Sunday was on Florida, next month it could be on floods in Missouri or hailstorms in Iowa. With an election that appears agonizingly close in a dozen or more states, any error in reacting to a natural or man-made disaster could cost Bush the election. <snip>

1. Still hasn't left Crawford
Well, they are praising him for cancelling his vacation 2 days early? He was supposed to leave on Friday, so the 2 days are Weds. and Thurs. It is now noon on Weds. and he's still at the ranch. Expected to get to DC at 4 and hold a Q & A. And so far, not call for the Army or any Federal troops to restore order. How much food is being distributed yet?

Yes, while NOLA dies, Bush bikes (and you can be sure he had a long mountain bike ride this morning!).

2. "I have to get on with my life"
* said that when he was asked if he would meet with Cindy. I bet he is thinking the same thing now about NO.
