I noticed Der Fuehrer justifying price gouging... |
|
No mention in his speach about price gouging at the pumps. Just justification for that gouging. We know capacity has been affected. But that doesn't explain why stations are raising prices FAR more than oil has gone up BEFORE they even received their next delivery of gasoline!
But, Bush doesn't care about the American people. Consequently, he's blase about gouging at the pumps.
If anyone is angry about gas prices, the explanation for your pain is sitting in the White House.
And we won't hear a peep from those incompetents in Washington about the economic effects of this disaster (and their inaction in it's aftermath contributing to economic collapse, including failure to control gouging). We'll head into an economic depression, and Bush will sit in the White House saying 'well, what do you want ME to do? Market forces control that.' Then he'll cut public assistance even more, and spend millions opening poor camps for the homeless after he signs legislation giving banks and apartments tax breaks for their losses from foreclosures and people not able to pay the rent. And he'll scream at Congress to pass a repeal of the inheritance tax NOW to improve the economy.
Watching this country unravel makes me feel physically ill.

1. Are you talking about gouging around NO or nationwide? |
|
It's not *'s fault if oil refineries are damaged or destroyed during a storm. It is his fault, however, for not planning adequately for such an event.

5. Well - it goes like this... |
|
If you watch you local gas station, and they receive their gas by truck once or twice a week. Then, hurrican Katrina happens, and they start raising their prices massively BEFORE their next delivery.
Well what, pray tell, is the reason for raising prices when their own prices haven't risen yet (and they can't POSSIBLY know how much prices will go up due to shortage)? And why no mention of this observed phenomenon by Bush?

Can't believe that there was no mention about price gouging.
But, we all knew who he really cares about.....
Hoping for Impeachment and a sweep in 06 and 08...
But it got me to thinking, it took a disaster to get FDR and the new deal, perhaps this will allow for the New Deal - Part II.
Well, at least I can dream....

6. Well, it's not like he pulls out his wallet when his limo fills up |
|
So what does he care about high gas prices? Except, I mean, insofar as it means more money for himself, his cronies and his political benefactors?
