"Control the oilfields"

Well, he (Bush) finally said it for the first time - the real reason we are in Iraq. Although he said as justification for the war "the terrorists" would control the oilfields and finance their shenanigans if we were not in Iraq. Of course, they would not be in there in the first place if we had not invaded.

But,as my husband predicted months ago, rising gas prices are just part of an ongoing, concerted effort to give the American public a vested effort in controlling the Iraqi oilfields. The Bushies and the Oil Companies and the speculators have all jumped all over Katrina to line their own pockets and justify the war. And now we really find out - how dumb are we? My prediction - pretty dumb.
