Time to start thinking... |
|
We have bitched and moaned and given money (and will continue to do so), how about we brainstorm on ideas of what to do since this can happen again and how to prevent the loss of life in the future.
First idea I have: All Democratic Precinct committee people have basic Red Cross training provided during those other trainings we get.
Second idea: Same people learn how to organize neighborhoods into evacuation caravans.
I got the idea from another thread about where the Dems are.
We cannot trust our own government to do the job so let us get the Dems (who as we all know organized quite well WWI and WWII, which we won.)
So begin! :)

Its critical that we take back our communities. Everybody has been living in these states of isolation staring at TVs for so long, fearing their neighbors because of what they hear on the news. If people were together as neighbors to the extent that they used to be, this would never have happened.

I fear there will be a few more next times in the next years, sadly.

4. Yep, so while I am okay with the cancelation of the meeting |

next weekend I do want to get the word to the top...I wonder if certain people I know can get a hold of our party leadership in the DNC to get the training started when things settle down.

I look at it as having two stages. The first is to get Dems networked enough that we can save ourselves in the advent of a disaster, because until then we can't help anybody. Stage two is that we should try to boost the level of skills and emergency goods so we can save others, even those who weren't interested enough to be involved in this effort before a disaster. I think its a great idea. I'll recommend this thread, but it probably won't cut it. I hope the idea gets out more.
