Just heard on MSNBC. Official being interviewed who works (runs) the body recovery segment of the Katrina disaster.
Reporter: The families may want to know how their relatives died. Are autopsies going to be performed or is that simply not a possibility in the system you have set up?
Body Recovery Team Member: As far as I know, there will no autopsies. But that could change.

Ummm...this is going to be interesting.

1. What a great way to coverup how many died AFTER the storm. |
|
I think that number will be surprisingly large.

3. Very few people from NO died during the storm. Most died after with |
|
the flooding. I would like to see them determine if people had been shot or not.

2. I see this two ways. It could be a coverup or they could simply |
|
not know to what extent they can perform them.
We need to press for at least SOME autopsies to be done.
There is no doubt that many died from starvation and dehydration.

shouldn't some effort be made at collecting DNA in order to prosecute or match against offender database's of sex offenders / people with prior convictions, etc. - these are the law and order folks in charge, right?

5. I would want my loved ones buried asap.... |
|
I don't think I would personally care about autopsies at this point just as long as my loved ones were properly buried and accounted for. Fortunately I have the luxury of not having to personally deal with this type of situation.
