CNN just showed horrendous photos of mutilated bodies from Convention Ctr. |

I'm shocked and quite a bit disturbed right now.
Anderson Cooper just released some photos they were able to sneak from the NOLA Convention Center, despite the illegal media shutdown by FEMA.
These pictures were just horrendous, of several bodies, some of them mutilated (decapitated), piled up on a bloody mess, some sheets covering parts of the pile.
Anderson told Aaron Brown that the rest of the photos they were able to sneak out were too disturbing to show on TV.
I'm literally shaking...
:scared:

1. it is important that the country sees this.... |
|
as bad as it is. it will help prevent it in the future as well as increase the chance of accountability.

9. But I received the impression |
|
Edited on Thu Sep-08-05 09:50 PM by Tomee450
that they were not certain that the bodies were mutilated. In fact, I thought the reporter who discussed the photos said that they had not heard any reports of mutilation. Also, if they were mutilated, who did it? How do we know that they were not mutilated after the people died so as to make it appear that people were going on a rampage further reinforcing the image held by many in this country of the violent, savage, black man. Also, it could be possible that an animal, rats perhaps, could have started eating the corpses.

4. You are right. The people MUST see the reality of what happened there. |
|
They have to see what the people who were trapped there had to live thru. It was even more ugly for them when they were experiencing it live then when we have to look at it thru pictures. Imagine having to hear it, and smell it..every day for a week.

5. Have you seen the photo some blogger has of a alligator in a building |
|
trailing blood with blood all over his snout? Good grief. This is horrible. Someone in the Atrios comment section had the link, wish I could remember who it was.

6. I"m glad they showed that |
|
As terrible as it is to see, people should see them. It's easy to hear about horrible deaths, feel bad for a minute, go back to your tennis date, and keep voting for whoever throws you a bone in a meager tax break. If you saw what happened to these people people you will never forget what happened to them the week your country turned its back on your fellow citizens.

I could only see one body fairly clearly. The decapitation must happened not too long after death, because there was quite a bit of blood that was clearly related to the decapitation itself.

10. This is Bush's worst nightmare. |
|
In Iraq, he could pretty much do whatever he wanted.....until the digital photos came out.
This, however, is a different story. He will not be able to bury the facts, try as he might.
Bush is finished. I'm going to repeat that phrase 10,000 times a day until he's out.

15. That just happened in American soil! |
|
This is the part that the Bush cult followers can't wrap their minds around: the so called "culture of life" people don't give two shits about them. They only seem to care about fetuses if there are cameras around.
American people, Iraqis... it doesn't matter. These people don't care about the fates of anyone who isn't a K-Street lobbyist. Period.

literally stomping someone to death after he raped someone.

gruesome but the American people need to see the reality NOW! Not later when they have cleaned it all up and destroyed the evidence. It's hard. It's deeply disturbing but so was watching Chimpy do nothing for four days while people died from lack of water and medical care and others suffered, some murdered, when the city descended into chaos because Chimpy's help never came. Bush failed to act like a President and he failed to act like a human. Where was the sense of urgency in him? Where was his concern? Why wasn't he doing anything to help these Americans? He was laughing, joking, smiling (lots of smiling  ) and patting people on the back for "doing a heck of a job." WHAT?
