And ABC had hurricane victims on that were praising it.
But I stayed away from all of it. Don't need that kind of stress in my life.

6. Lots of pundits asking how will we come up with all this money |

$200 Billion Dollars. Many said out loud that we would borrow it. They also said that this isn't going to be a very good thing.

9. 2006 elections vs Bush legacy? |
|
I don't get this speech. He put out all kinds of stuff that a R congress won't pay for....or, if they do put the money up, it will raise all kinds of questions about further tax cuts (as well as existing tax structure) and will raise questions about, say, the next time they ask for $70B for Iraq. In other words, how can they ask for $200B for this, $70B for Iraq, another $100B tax cut, then we wind up with a trillion dollar annual deficit?
Is he doing this to protect his post presidential legacy? "I was a good guy, I put out all kinds of ideas and Congress wouldn't pay for it" etc.
This strikes me as something that puts Republicans at risk in 2006. They WON'T pay on the scale he's asking for, which will make them look bad...even when compared to a President whose popularity is plunging.
The theatricality of it is awful, of course, and I'm glad he's getting knocks on that. But the substance of it. How many people in MSM will remember all the money pledged for NYC after 9/11, that somehow never showed up?

If they're negative now, it's just because they feel the wind blowing on their weather-finger. Let the Spawn of Sauron's numbers go back up and they'll be slobbering all over him again.
