Bill O'Reilly: Who's looking out for Bush. |
|
This is from Tuesday, September 20th O’Reilly Factor’s Talking Points Memo:
A new Gallup poll taken after the president's speech in New Orleans last week shows no bounce. His job approval rating stands at 40 percent. And a record 58 percent of Americans saying his performance is not good. Despite those dismal numbers, the far left in America has failed to capitalize. Even though most Americans are disappointed with Mr. Bush, they're not rushing over to the progressive movement. The day after Bush read his speech about Katrina, O’Reilly was drooling all over it, (and the speech to), saying how this is the comeback for Bush’s poll numbers. And how great the speech was and how America would respond to it.
But what gets me is how this self proclaimed independent (liar), uses this moment to attack the left. Deflecting the issues of the federal government response to Katrina and the American public’s deteriorating view of the President, off Bush and spin this into “All this bad news for Bush isn’t good news for those who oppose him.
O’Reilly did the same thing during the 2004 Presidential Champagne. Before the first debate between Bush and Kerry, O’Lielly said that he would give you full coverage of the debate. Who won, who lost and everything in between. But the next day after Bush came out looking like the idiot that he is and O’Reilly having no way to spin it just said that he wasn’t going to critique it. That he wasn’t going to call any winners or losers.
I just think that there should be a price to pay for those like O’Reilly who have helped to misinform and fool the public at large for Bush and his neo-con administration. This country is so screwed up thanks to Fox News, O’Reilly, Rush Limpbaugh and other conservative talking heads. They should be afraid to show their face in public.

3. I agree that they should be held accountable |
|
the same way Hitler's propagandists were. They helped to kill tens of thousands of innocent Iraqis and continued to support this president even after they found he had lied.
But, O'Really must not have read the poll that showed that that most Americans are now more likely to identify themselves as Democrats, by an 8 point margin!! Poor O'Really, I suppose his job is to keep the few Fox viewers left who support this administration, happy. Never, ever tell them the truth!! THEY CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!!

4. The worst kind of propagandist |
|
This guy and others like him are a real danger to this country and the world.
Propaganda should be a crime because of the terrible harm it does.

6. What's Funny Is, O'Reilly used fake poll numbers |
|
to claim that Bush numbers were coming back after the speech, according to Media Matters http://mediamatters.org/items/200509210008

7. They are deserting the ship |
|
but they only want to get elected again. In O'Reilly's case, he was probably given vast amounts of money to kiss Bush's ass. From the looks of O'Reilly he probably even tips the bottle with Bush.

8. I had a difference of opinion |
|
yesterday with an expat American (here in Australia). The argument was that he thought that O'Reilly was three dimensional. I can't perceive any depth to O'Reilly's arguments or to his persona. He runs on ego and crows because his bosses and their puppets approve and give him a platform. If RW media and public sector jobs didn't exist, what would people like him do? I can't think of any other use for them. Selling cars, insurance or real estate requires deference to antipathetic or ambivalent customers, but their horseshit customers seem to take it on faith that it's good horseshit.

10. Yea, Joe Scaborrow did the same tonight- while bashing the feds |
|
he turned it into a diatribe about the failure of Balnco and Nagin.
Finally, some guy got on the air from Texas, a news or radio guy, and he went nuts telling Joe off about how the preznit is the one the nation looks to for security and not local governments. He said come down here and tell people to their face what they should think about Fema-enema no one has faith that the admin can protect them.
These RW blow hards have so much time to get their point of view out on TV it's appaling. Thank Ryagun for allowing this- when he stopped the fairness in broadcasting act- RW hate radio grew to 500 over night.

12. Waiting for segments like Phil Donahue's last night... |
|
is the reason i'll suffer through O'Reilly's show. Phil showed Billy that calm intelligent truth trumps loud obnoxious lies.
O'Reilly was way out of his league with Phil. Phil is no Jeremy Glick, Billy...lol

14. I hate when rethugs say O'Reilly is an independant |
|
Really, he's got his lips as firmly implanted in Bush's ass as Coulter, Savage, Hannity, Limbaugh, Hal Turner, Glenn Beck, Tucker Carlson, and so on.

15. O'Reilly has mental problems...but he knows when he's out-matched |
|
Look at how he snapped at Phil Donahue the other night. But I think that was because he knew he was way out of his league against Donahue. So he planned before hand to try and intimidate Phil the way he did Paul Krugman on The Tim Russert Show. Thats why O'Crazy looked lost after he blew his top, because he realized that he didn't even phase Phil one bit. And you can see that after that outburst by "Billy", Phil started pummeling "Billy" with truth, facts and questions that "Billy" was all on the ropes barely hanging on trying not to go down for the count. Because "Billy" had used all his turbo boost on that fake, loud hissy fit.
