Poll: Harris Still Far Behind Nelson
Aaaaahahahahahahhahahahahaaaaaaaaaa!

Yet another poll is showing Katherine Harris losing ground as she starts her campaign for the U.S. Senate. The poll by Republican-leaning Strategic Vision shows Harris now 12 percentage points behind incumbent Sen. Bill Nelson a Democrat. Two months ago the same company showed that the margin was 8 percentage points.

Worse for the Harris camp, is that Strategic Vision shows four other Republicans as having a better shot at defeating Nelson than Harris. Retired U.S. Gen. Tommy Franks is in a dead heat with Nelson. Florida Lt. Gov. Toni Jennings is 6 points back. U.S. Rep. Mark Foley, R-Jupiter, is 4 points back. And Gov. Jeb Bush is 12 points up on Nelson.

3. Exactly
This poll at this time is almost meaningless.

Harris is not going away and she is a good campaigner.

This seat will be won by a margin of less than 2 points.

6. I think your
Wrong and here's why: This is a Republican poll first of all so taking that into account Harris probably trails by about 20 or more points. But here's my main point: Katherine Harris is someone who already has a lot of name ID, and there aren't a whole lot of people who don't have an opinion of her one way or the other. I do think she'll make Nelson sweat a bit but he 'll get re-elected with 55% or more

Think Georgia and 2002.

Harris is going to win if she is the Republican nominee; bank on it.

And if she's not, bank on a Republican win regardless.

9. Underestimating Republicans has been the Democratic party
Achilles heel since Reagan

Thanks for making my point

10. I don't underestimate
Republicans, I just think Katherine Harris is a joke of a candidate. I simply don't see how someone who has as high of name recogonition can make serious inroads

7. I can't say I'm enthusiastic
Nelson of Florida is the fourth worst senator we have as far as progressive votes go. Out of 11 votes for bils or confirmations last year, he voted with the pukes 9 out of 11 times.

Even voting in lock-step, a few Republicans voted more progressively than Nelson did. food for thought in th primaries. I wonder how Jeb Bush would poll against other Democrats with a more populist message?

Remember, if Harris is beat, that is good, but it is a tiny victory that only serves the Democratic party through caucusing. There is a LOT of work to do in Florida.

11. Why is Franks in that poll? I thought he was a Texan?
Did he retire in Fla? I guess that's not surprising, as CENCTOM Commander he spent a lot of time there over the last 5 years.

13. Does serving in the military automatically make him a hero?
The reason I ask is because his record on Afghanistan and Iraq are not very impressive.

15. Franks commanded Gulf War I and by all accounts it was done
with minimum loss of our soldiers and record time. That says
something. My hats off to him. I hope he runs as a democrat
for president.

19. Franks did not command the first Gulf War.
That was Norman Schwartzkopf. Franks was a BG at the time serving in 1st CAV.

Just don't think she can ride the wave all the way to the Senate.

23. The Repugs don't want her to win the GOP primary.
They will probably finance a couple of candidates to throw her off track. Nelson needs to prepare himself because he could likely be facing a serious challenge from someone OTHER THAN Harris.
