according to Imus, bush is going to name Harriet Miers to be his new SC nominee ...

They claim that she donated to the DNC and the Al Gore presidential campaign (I don't believe that). But it does seem to be a very unpopular choice with the fascists at freakrepublic. Maybe there is hope that she will at least be a moderate.

I'm not sure what his stand was on abortion at that time.

She is the worst example of cronyism we have had yet. But of course, they see a chance Conservative moderates will fall for it once again.

I'm willing to wager that she was on an 'acceptable' list provided by the DEM leadership. There is no way we would get anyone that is acceptable to us here at DU. I think this is a lot like what happened with the Ginsburg nomination. Ginsburg was suggested as acceptable by the Republicans (Orin Hatch in particular) because, to them although she was liberal, the other possibilities were too horrendous to consider.
