Per Criminal Novak: "Dems Have Criminalized Politics"

"Dems have criminalized politics

October 3, 2005

BY ROBERT NOVAK SUN-TIMES COLUMNIST

Last Wednesday afternoon, after Tom DeLay's indictment was announced, the caterwauling began among House Republicans about their own decision of Jan. 3. By reinstating a rule that a party leader must resign if indicted, Republican House members complained, they had placed a gun in the hand of a Democratic district attorney frantic to use it.

DeLay, praised and condemned as the epitome of hardness in politics, had taken the soft position that the House Republican Conference could not withstand the abuse for having repealed the resignation rule. Democrats were archetypal hards, determined to use the criminal process to remove from power so formidable an antagonist. Travis County District Attorney Ronnie Earle nearly flinched within the last month, but relentless determination to use the criminal process against DeLay moved Earle.

In today's polarized climate, both parties have contributed to the criminalization of politics. But Democrats, losers in both elections and the world of ideas, have turned to using the criminal process over the last two decades. That means depicting DeLay not as a mere reactionary politician but the cause of national corruption. This resolve was furthered by the reckless DA in Texas and a retreat by House Republicans..."

4. Good point
I've been thinking that too.

I believe for me it was simply the inability to conceive of a whole party of lying, criminal, neocon thugs.

Their words have less and less impact, but this still ticks me off about Novak, the original publisher of the Plame leak.

Who is he to talk??

in all ways.

That was such a gratuitous attack on Democrats, I'm sure it is meant to antagonize.

But that is his whole repertoire, I think.

Oh and publishing leaked national security information.

17. Well, there you go again.......
Bob. Lying out of your ass.

"But Democrats, losers in both elections and the world of ideas, have turned to using the criminal process over the last two decades. That means depicting DeLay not as a mere reactionary politician but the cause of national corruption."

Democrats, "losers in both elections and in the world of ideas" have lost only the elections. The Republicans' "world if ideas" is nothing more than a WORLD OF LIES presented as ideas. NOTHING the Republicans have proposed as "ideas" have panned out to be the truth! They're LIES and the reason Republicans "won" the last two elections is because the American people BOUGHT those lies. There are no Republican "ideas", there are only thinly veiled lies that are always revealed in short order for what they truly are.

I call upon Bob Novak again to retire. His antiquated and archaic ideals are passe, quaint notions of what this country used to be like. He has no contemporary ideas and is as worn out and hackneyed as buggywhips. Retire, Bob. You're WAY past your prime and your slobbering, senile commentary is no longer applicable in today's political discourse.

23. We need Propaganda Busters!
Someone must compile the criminality of the Clinton years against the Cheney-Bush years.

We get opinionized propaganda carefully written to persuade the viewer that the content of their delivery is news. Imagine, every one of our seven major networks are propaganda partners of the Republican Party. Each of those networks are affiliated with a magazine or newspaper or both. All the other major newspapers are Republican.

Nearly all of their employee-columnists are also the guest experts. They have and continue to work hard to deliver the propaganda.

We need to help others recognize it by being more prepared. In the old days, NBC and the other networks used to present visuals of facts related to the news.

Who can compile the facts in such a way that it can be printed off to use in fighting back. Carefully arranged - the facts of all these allegations can be refuted in quick visuals.

Blogs are so short lived. It is impossible to remember it all.

There are only 13 months left.
