IRAQIS want us OUT of THEIR country. NOW NOW NOW.
They know we broke it; they want us OUT.

They don't CARE about YOUR guilty feelings; they care about THEIR country, THEIR family & friends, and they want us OUT.

Stop the white man's burden bullshit, stop ignoring what the Iraqis want, they are NOT children, they are mroe than capable of looking after themselves and their OWN COUNTRY.

bush's invasion of Iraq is a WAR CRIME; it needs to STOP NOW.

IRAQ FOR IRAQIS; YANKEES GO THE FUCK HOME.

Iraqis have been saying GET OUT for a long time now;

1. But, Lynn, do you have any links?
:D Yes, I know all the links are in the link.

Good to have you back. You didn't by chance go to D.C. to march, did you? It really was an experience.

Here's me there. In case you missed it.

LOVE the shirt, LOL! Concise, truthful & to the point. :D

Nah didn't go...hubby had his retirement papers in hand and the VERY NEXT DAY he got backdoor drafted for another 2 frigging years.

I was (still am) so damned pissed off & depressed I went into hibernation mode for a few weeks.

Now I'm just fucking PISSED.

How about you & me meeting up with bush & his entire cartel, dark alley? I could REALLY use the stress relief. :D

do everything but, evaluate new patients, women where I go for PT has a Nam AF husband. He is scheduled to do relief in the Gulf and leave Oct. 15th. for a month. I told her, he is probably close to retirement (Nam comment) and he should RETIRE. I said they are sending old guys to Iraq.

16. For my hubby, he was called in to pick up his retirement papers
on a Tuesday. Next day he got a call from the HQ that he'd been caught up in the stop-loss for 4th Infantry Division; the entire 4th ID is stop-lossed.

So he -and all 4th ID- are backdoor drafted until after 4th ID is back from their next 18-month tour in Iraq (whomever survives). Age doesn't matter; I believe the oldest US trooper in Iraq currently is 72 years old.

24. I am so sorry, Bush has made the military (a once admiral job) into
a beat death game. I wish there was something that I could do, (I can say a prayer, if you give me his first name), but that is all I can think of. However, Lynne, if there is anting, I can do, please feel free to ask and I really mean that.

7. I am not surprised they pulled that on your husband.
Edited on Thu Oct-06-05 04:10 AM by Hissyspit
The phrase "You and What Army?" has new implications nowadays for the United States. I am sure they are lowering the minimum recruitment requirements as we speak, so it is no suprise they are using tactics like that used on your husband. I am sorry to hear it. You should be pissed.

I guess I am hoping Fitzgerald is going to provide a metaphorical dark alley by way of the court room. I am hoping so. Maybe we will get some stress relief there. But the damage has already been done - to your family and to the Supreme Court.

I am proud of my photograph. It was taken by a woman named: Lynn! (my brother's girlfriend/sig other) What you can't quite see is that there are hundreds of people around me. It was difficult to get up to the temporary fence to make the photo.

Keep up the good posts. And hang in there.

No problem.

Alcoholic? Drug user?

No problem.

Mental disorders?

No problem.

Got a police record?

No problem.

They stop-lossed the entire 4th ID, a LOT of very pissed off soldiers here at Ft Hood, I tell ya.

Hey yer bro has great taste in sig other's names. :D Very nice photo...don't tell my hubby, but first thing I thought was "hey nice set of lips!" (shhhhh!) ;) Then I noticed the t-shirt. I still got my priorities straight.

Iraqis want. Hell they don't give a shit what Americans want. Maybe the Sunni will get smart and allign themselves with al Sadr and start to force the so called Iraqi Govt. to demand that the US/UK Occupation end.

10. Dont matter what Bushco want
Iraq will break both US and UK back in the long run.
They will bankrupt both countries.
So either leave a bankrupt or just leave.
Its like holding on to bad stocks, if you dont cut your loses you just lose more.

The only exit strategy is to exit. This is a nightmare Chimp started.
He is one big joke of a president. Just blew away the US wealth in assets and human resources just for more griefs.

11. Not sure
Let me try and put the other side of the case:

The situation now is that the US and British forces are in Iraq with a UN mandate to help set up a democratic government and train the Iraqi security forces.

I don't like the situation in Iraq and I am not happy about how we got where we are. But we have to try our best to clean up the mess that we made by invading Iraq.

Not sure that our current leaders are up to the job. Someone like Wes Clark might do a better job. But the insurgents are just a few thousand - mostly non-Iraqis. Don't forget there are millions of Iraqis who want a stable and peaceful democracy!

The insurgents/terrorists are people who bombed a UN compound on a humanitarian relief mission. We cannot just give up, go home, and leave these maniacs in charge of Iraq.

OK - so you disagree with me. But does that mean I am nuts?

Edited on Thu Oct-06-05 04:56 AM by LynnTheDem
The "insurgents" are 95% IRAQIS. And even the US Military says so. And had you bothered to check my link I provided in my OP, you'd have known that.

FACTS are your friends.

I don't know if you're "nuts"; I'd say you're misinformed, most certainly.

28. "But the insurgents are just a few thousand - mostly non-Iraqis" WRONG !!!
the insurgency is made up almost exclusively of native Sunni Iraqis ...

recent estimates put the number of foreign fighters as low as 4% and in any case not greater than 10% ...

the entire justification for "protecting Iraq from these evil foreign terrorists" is a MYTH ...

the Sunni insurgency is not trying to take over Iraq ... they are resisting the imposition of a tyranny by the majority ... the plan being pushed by the US will leave the Sunnis subject to the oppressive rule of religious fundamentalists ... they have no choice but to resist ...

9. They do not get to vote on it
Edited on Thu Oct-06-05 04:14 AM by firefox
They get to vote on what Iraqis serve our interest and they get to vote on a Constitution. They do not get to vote on sending the occupiers home or recapturing our oil. Some things we just have to do for their own protection.

But you have presented one strategy for them. They should paint "Fascists go home" on every brick, rock, tombstone, dog, cat, forehead, t-shirt, plate, cup, key chain, etc. and make it clear the US needs to get the fuck out.

21. That pretty much covers it all.
I would add that there's no point in the U.S. staying because they aren't going to stop the bombing and start stabilizing the country until after we're gone. We'd do the same if anyone invaded us.

23. On Democracy Now! over a year ago, an ordinary, Iraqi woman said
get out!! Now!! You are doing much more harm than good. It is doing nothing but fueling the foreign terrorists who are flooding the country to get a chance to kill Americans.

The reports out of there lately are horrific, it sounds like they have told our soldiers to shoot anything that moves without any questions. All that does is make for more dead Iraqis and more screwed up American soldiers to return home and wreak havoc on their own families because of the insideous cuts to the VA.

It is lose-lose and I continue to hope and pray we get out of there. I am very, very disappointed in the Dems for not backing an immediate and full pull out.

25. Why Immediate Withdrawal Makes Sense
Why Immediate Withdrawal Makes Sense
by Michael Schwartz

1.The U.S. military is already killing more civilian Iraqis than would likely die in any threatened civil war;

2.The U.S. presence is actually aggravating terrorist (Iraqi-on-Iraqi) violence, not suppressing it;

3.Much of the current terrorist violence would be likely to subside if the U.S. left;

4.The longer the U.S. stays, the more likely that scenarios involving an authentic civil war will prove accurate.

30. We have to keep repeating that...LOUD & CLEAR!
This staying for the Constitution and staying for the Referendum and staying for the Votes.....how exactly is our military going to handle it once everything is in place and they KICK us out! How are all those guilt-ridden, brave, and conscientious souls who've done our dirty work going to feel then? This entire debacle is creating new antagonisms on both sides; hatred and resentments that never existed before will whirl around, both in the Middle East and HERE, long after we've straggled out of there.....how in the world is that fostering any kind of Peace?

I'm so sorry to hear of your news about your hubby! I can't even begin to imagine how discouraging that must be. I haven't come in here for months after getting fed up with some of the downright apathy expressed by many in respecting the rights of the Iraqi people and their need for self-determination. It's good to find your post and your sentiments and to know that some actually do see the injustice of it all.

FREEDOM FOR IRAQ! END THE OCCUPATION NOW!
