Bush: re NYC TERRA ALERT:"Our job is to gather information and PASS IT ON"
When the change occur???

Cause...in 2001...He had Info Osama was coming to attack...and he ignored it.....a CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER warning...much more severe than this NYC BS...and he did nothing...no phone calls, no instructions...just like Katrina for 4 days...silence of the lambs.. nothing....

He is so full of it

many years back. The best the Feds can do is scream TERRA, TERRA, TERRA.

Btw today in the train station a terrorist attack was foiled. Just so you keep the right score.

4. Well, in all fairness
I watched some of the coverage on ABC News last night. Based on what information was available, and the probabilities/possibilities, I thought that what happened (stepped up police presence, more searches of backpacks and briefcases, public announcements to alert people), I thought the response was measured and reasonable.

From what I could tell, there wasn't a lot of scare-mongering, nobody seemed to be in panic mode, there was maybe a saturation of coverage, but this was after all NYC, which is the media hub for the nation, as well as a prior target, so that wasn't unexpected.

I don't know how much credit the Bush administration deserves for the announcement and response yesterday, but it seems that our society has grown up a little and can handle itself better nowadays. In the past, even a rumor of some gossip put a lot of people who should know better into an overreactive tizzy.

7. My point was his explanation of Fed Involvement..almost zero...
compared with local response.

HLS didn't think it credible enough to saddle up.

So Bush is out there this AM explaining;;;"It our job to pass on the info...."

So...how come this was not done in AUG 2001, one month before 9/11?
**************************************************************
ONE LOUSY PHONE CALL...for the Lack of ONE lousy Phone Call.....
*************************************************************
There would not have been a 9/11
We would not be at war
5,000 peeps still be alive

22,378 peeps still be whole

312,870 Iraqis still be alive and/or whole

$658,342,572,998.09 would not have been spent and would be available for recovery efforts/rebuilding infrastructure/health programs, research, advancement, etc

756,443,109,534.878 Gal of Deisel/gas would have been wasted.

etc etc

Bush fucked it up by not making a call to the FAA and alerting them of OSAMA...no alerts to anyone, not the cia, fbi, fema, no one....

10. Oh, well, I'll accept your point, no problem
This corrupt administration never budges unless there's a buck to be made or a political point to be scored.

But I thought NYC handled itself very well yesterday, and that was more in spite of than because of any administration doings.

11. Yes, I agree , the NYC , in the damned if you do, and vice versa mode
had no choice but to play it safe... to their credit...

I only wish the president had done the same in 2001.

We need Leaders who already know what to do...not learn on the job..
