If you look at the Hell Chimp's group of close family friends, there's nary a Yank in the bunch. They don't surround themselves with "us". Even his "godfather" (not literally, since they're not Catholic, but figuratively) has a Royal title.

Bush's peerage consists of all the other global elite. That's his country, not ours.

Sir Geoffrey Marche wasn't royalty per se, beyond a gentry connection, but he's a definite European blue blood. He also helped author a study supporting the idea that poor children shouldn't be educated. Such nice people, these Bush league folk.

And I don't think he's literally his godfather, the mention has always been made in a figurative sense.
